I have read every single post in this thread and I'm actually embarssed to find the amount of POOR and BROKE boys on here. Boys who are even willing to let a girl pay for them on the first date.

im a girl and I've seen some of these posts and it's quite frank that many of these girls are jealous of the Op. I am too, my boyfriend is similar but just not as good. He used to pay for everything but recently pays for nothing, he's started being broke, he sounds like most of you men here,
Some of you sound angry and bitter, but truth is, your life is probably ****, you can't even afford to pa for a girl when you go out, someone said they ALways spilt,

I thought my boyfriend was bad but after seeing this I'm glad I've got mine.

Op. I think you're lucky but maybe pay for some things more. Although y our ratio is pretty fair tbh more than I pay anyway,
I am just wondering by what magic mechanism the "boys" you refer to are meant to acquire more money than "girls".

Technically him since he's the one working and I contribute with my student finance until I graduate and I'm a full time wife and mum. But he's always insisted that it's both our money (we have a joint account plus I have access to his personal account) so I guess both of us?

You plan on graduating to a life of full time "mum" ?

I meant I'm graduating from my degree and after that I'm likely gonna be a full time mum for few years.

Oh my, you're so butt-hurt it's ridiculously hilarious
She just has a bf any girl would wish to have and good for her!
I just hate this mentality. It's lazy & obnoxious. My GF doesn't suffer from such idiocy

But why. If a guy asks me out on a date I'd expect him to pay for it; just how it happened with me and my bf on our first date...
However, if OP's bf doesn't mind being the 'payer' beyond first date - then can I blame OP?
Nope, good for them both tbh.

No it's not that he "doesn't mind" paying. It's that she expects it & wouldn't entertain any other scenario. She'd dump her bf if he suddenly became unable to continue paying her way.

That, my friend, is **** behaviour.

Don't jump to conclusions. I wouldn't dump my boyfriend is he couldn't continue, we've been together for two years, he paid for everything for the first year so I would be more than happy to take over until he could continue, but the case is, I'm a very lucky girl and my boyfriend will always be able to continue paying my way.

OK, but that's not really what you've been saying - you've said things like - I wouldn't go out with a guy if he couldn't pay for me, a man should be paying, etc, etc.

If your thread was "Am I lucky that my boyfriend pays for me" then the answer would be yes.

But since your thread has been like reading something posted by a 1920's housewife who expects everything paid for her... You've come across as a bit of a ****.

You couldn't even answer my question - "what is the purpose of your existence, what do you bring to the table", instead calling me confused.

It's a simple question - I can see what's in the relationship for you - money. But what's in it for your boyfriend since you don't help pay anything, don't help around the house & don't even have sex?

    Why is he with you?

He is with me because he loves me, I'm sorry if that's bit a good enough answer for you, but it's good enough for him.

I can pay, but not if she's the one bringing it up. The exception would be if she has good reason not to pay, but that's not something that will happen several times. I would then also question why she didn't mention it beforehand.

Saying who should pay and who shouldn't in any way that is only based on genders, is ridiculous.

    Stop the bickering ffs.
I think, you Steezy (although your points are all very good) could have asked OP for background details/info before jumping to conclusions... and maybe she doesn't bring anything to the table. You may find it outrageous but clearly her bf doesn't; because otherwise he'd dump her by now tbh.

IMO self-respecting men should pay for his girl. Why should we have to diminish every convention? It's a chivalrous act to pay, so why not (unless you have serious financial issues). And quite frankly it shows that you're doing good for yourself, why wouldn't women like that?
Also, if we don't **** about with dinner etiquette, why should we **** around with dating etiquette. Some of the responses here are tragic tbh.

Men (or women) should not do anything simply because society says so. However, they may still choose to do it because they want to, for other reasons.

"self-respecting men should pay for his girl"

Yeah, and the women should do all the cooking and cleaning!

I did put in the sentence about etiquette for a reason. Paying can give a good impression especially for a first date. If you don't care about that then go ahead and tell her to split it like a nonce. I think you've took a premature gist of my post and went butt sore about 'muh society!' So I'm not going to bother re-emphasizing what I've just said.

Sure, I may have appeared more butthurt than I actually am. Happens to me all the time.

I am just amazed that anyone can have the opinion that 50% of the population should do ANYTHING simply because they are part of that half. Yes, there are some exceptions, because we should all strive to help the human race survive etc etc, but other than the obvious exceptions I really don't understand.

You should pay for your own things.

I don't even accept birthday gifts from girls.
Lol. No offence but you're ugly! No girl probably would even give you the date and opportunity to pay for them.

LOL yes he is ugly, and even worse he sounds poor. I'd give your rep but I've used all mine up.

This is the problem, so many boys on here are complaining and why.. Because you aren't rich enough to do what the girls boyfriend does for her, personally I'm single because I've dated too many poor boys but my last boy was filthy rich.

If you don't have the pockets to feed a girl with an expensive taste, keep living your **** life with no money with your broke relationship and stay in poverty! Some people aren't meant to make it past Being in poverty or average anyway

for all the boys a bout to respond a nd lie and say your rich, really. any rich to wukd be more than willing to pay for a girl. Simply as. You're broke and it burns, fair enough, Noones stopping you fro. Enjoying your life, enjoy the broke life while some enjoy the rich.
