    Agreed. The history associated with the Tulip is quite fascinating as well. It was the Dutch East India Company (or VOC), which had the first IPO in history, whose ships set off Tulipmania.

    I must say that i loved the economic history module i did. Reading about the Tulip boom and South Sea Asset bubble was quite fascinating. Not to mention the invention of banking.

    Kind of puts into perspective those who think capitalism and asset bubbles are new things associated with neoliberalism.

    I am always happy to look at proposals to help the environment when it makes relative economic sense to do so. We did co-write the BIB bill that provisioned a proportion for investments in green technology after all.
