Looks like the Vikings season could be over already.
Damn did you post this like 2 seconds after it happened?

No I managed to stop the tears and realise at least the hope has disappeared early this year unlike losing because of a missed chip shot.

Oh no! That's so awful, the Vikings were on the come up after last year. Even though he is a 'game manager' he's still a solid QB that they need to win games. It's not the 70's any more so their run game won't be enough this year. Shaun Hill is not one of those backups that you think 'maybe he could be alright.'

I like to see the cyclical nature of the NFL in action so even though I'm not a Vikings fan I'm extra frustrated by this one. I suppose the only positive you can take is that ACL's are no longer career enders in the majority of cases.

Edit: Google put a parody Ian Rapoport ACL update on the front page of Teddy Bridgewater search results. A compound fracture would be worse.

Hopefully zimmer comes out with teddy laughing about how they pulled one over the media with a joke.

Teddy was looking brilliant in preseason and now this has happened.

People are saying it is a compound fracture.

Zimmer talks to the media in 15 minutes

****, isn't a compound fracture the kind where the bone is poking out through the skin??

How the **** did that happen on a non-contact play?

    It is.

I don't know, it might just be Twitter being Twitter, but with the apparent reactions of his teammates it seems a possibility apparently some were actually sick on the sidelines.

Either would be nice to have, the Vikings might as well try something like this as the available qbs are poor.

    Apparently looking at sanchez

I see them trading for Josh McCown or someone, but I think the Browns will want more than people might think for such a good backup.

If Mark Sanchez with a full off season isn't an upgrade on Trevor Siemian, I don't see how Mark Sanchez with a week to learn the offense is supposed to be an upgrade on Shaun Hill. Basically all the available QBs have me asking that question unless Kaepernick gets cut for not being patriotic enough. But even he has looked pretty awful lately.

I think Kaep in a different place might be much better. SF has been a dodgy environment since Harbaugh left for Michigan and the quieter media in Minnesota might help him put his head down and return to 2013 form. The only issue is that he'd be walking into a conservative offence where you need ball security and to make the short throws accurately with a great deal of consistency. These have never been his strongest suits; this is why Gabbert is going to start for SF. There are good backups floating around, McCown, Henne, they could come in and do a job, Henne is a checkdown specialist so would probably be right at home in the Vikings O. I don't think either will win you games but with the supporting cast they're probably not going to lose you too many either. Kap will win you some if he's anything like 2013 but lose you plenty if he plays like 2015.

The only other guy I can think of is Josh Freeman - had some experience with the Vikings, has some raw talent and seemed to still want to make it in the league last I read.

Mike Vick is in for a workout which probably makes more sense than any of the other names we came up with. Really hope he plays 16 games.

Bridgewater very nearly lost his leg. I heard very disturbing reports on his injury, and I hope he can really attack his rehab and show the world why he's a darn fine NFL QB.

Trevor Siemian did also have advantages against Sanchez. He doesn't throw wobbly passes, he has experience in Kubiak's system...learned from two of the best QBs to ever play in Peyton Manning and John Elway. Kubes is reknowed for creating QB friendly schemes, and with the Kubiak offense 'as designed' it should lessen the load of Siemian if the o-line can keep it clean. He needs to just trust his reads, and get the ball out. His footwork is a plus. He has plus mobility. He gives the Broncos the best chance to win over the course of the season, and because we know who Sanchez is and always be, he has the ability to grow.

He ho. If he fails...I want to Clam for Cam. Cam Robinson is a Laremy Tunsil/Jake Matthews type talent. A potential blindside bookend for the next ten years. If you play as a true freshman for Alabama, you're a special talent. He started.

Myles Garrett would be nice though. Von Miller, Shane Ray, Shaq Barrett and him? Nighty, night, o-lines.

Paxton is the QB of the future, but over the course of four preseason games, showed that he has a lot to work on. He's further along than Goff, and it's becoming more obvious why the Broncos had a higher grade on Paxton than they did Goff. His physical gifts are greater, and he's further along in his development in becoming a pro style QB.

In college news...not much to report, except South Carolina nearly got shocked by Vanderbilt, the worst team in the SEC....and Tennessee needed a recovered fumble for a touchdown by Jalen Hurd. Utah got off to strong start, and I hope they win the PAC12. Utah is quitely becoming a serious football powerhouse. Steve Smith, Alex Smith and Zane Beadles are joined by the likes of Devontae Booker and Nate Orchard.

    Sam Bradford to the vikings.

1st this year and a 4th next it could be increased to a 3rd or 2nd depending on the teams success.

This has to raise more questions about how they see Teddy's chances of returning next year.

This is a ****ing loony trade unless they think the injury is career threateningly bad. I think Bradford has some of the skills that make good NFL QBs for sure but so did Jake Locker. Neither showed the ability to stay healthy for a season. One is retired the other has just been traded for a 1st round pick and then some. Bradford hasn't had an injury free season since 2010 and has 2 ACL injuries on the same knee. He's not a guy to spend a 1st rounder on for potentially one season of production.
