Hey! You seem to know a lot about this stuff, could you help me please? I got an average of 686 and band 3, do you think I could get into Southampton? If not which Uni's would you recommend? Thanks

That's a good score, well done again. I haven't got mine until the 10th September. I am regretting doing it so late now, eugh. Ah well, hopefully, it will be okay.

I am looking to apply to Birmingham and Barts as well!
    Thank you!
Ah ok... I'm sure you'll do great.
What did you get at GCSEs, if you don't mind me asking?

    Hey

I got a 667 average and Band 2 SJT in UKCAT.
Is this enough for an interview at Leicester, Birmingham and Barts?
    My GCSEs are 8A*s, 2As and 2 Distinction*s
(Planning to do BMAT as well)

    Thanks in advance
Nobody could tell you whether it will be enough yet as the UKCAT averages change year on year.
You can actually calculate your score for each of these medical schools on their websites so go away and do that, the previous years cutoffs are available so you can compare your score.

Thank you. I got 5A*s 4As 1A* Distinction and 2As at AS Level for IT and Maths.
What are you taking for AS, other than Chemistry of course?

Well done! Those are very strong GCSEs... and I'm taking Biology, Chemistry, Maths and EPQ. The only modular As Level is maths for me. So where else are you planning to apply?? Are you also doing the BMAT?

Hi everyone. Just done the mock exam (not the diagnostic) in the Kaplan book. How realistic is this in comparison to the actual UKCAT.
    I got,
    VR 550,
    QR 850,
    AR 630.

Im not getting my hopes up/down on this as its very different as its a book and because anything can change.

But any comparison on this with UKCAT would be great.

    Thanks.

I am taking the same: Bio, Chem, Phys, Maths and EPQ. Except my school entered us in for the AS Exams! I don't know yet where as it depends on my UKCAT score! BMAT again depends on my UKCAT score, hoping that I don't have to do it.

Ok... Good luck for your As exams!
Yeah BMAT is a lot of work. I'm gonna apply to one BMAT uni though, so there's no way out of it for me
Have you thought of an EPQ topic?

I think so, but the competition will still be quite high.

    Why will it go down?
The negative press. I know one of the interviewees at Sheffield told my dad that they are expecting less applicants this year but I don't suppose it's going to be a dramatic drop or anything.
