The interviewer then said to him did it not bother him Arsenal had gone 8 years wih no trophy. It was a completely bizarre and unnecessary thing to say to Carl.
It wasn't Geoff Shreeves was it? If so, he has form for that.

I don't think it's a case having a lot/not a lot of funds to improve the team, it's more of a case of Wenger's managerial techniques.
Any manager can buy a team (see Chelsea, Man City, PSG, Monaco, QPR, etc.) and I think this is what Kroenke wants, so he can get more money.
Wenger is closer to Barcelona, Man United, AC Milan and (to a lesser extent) Everton, they buy or coach younger players into global stars which is in my opinion harder and what I think is closer to what Ismanov wants.
That being said though, I unfortunately can't see Wenger there much longer. The worst part is apparantly Mancini wants the Arsenal job. *shudders*

    Yeah, think it was.

Even now though on SSN Tim Stillman (head of Arsenal Supporters Trust) was being interviewed and they said to him, seeing as we hadn't won a trophy in 8 years then surely we won't win today because it's like a cup final for us?! It's honestly almost hilarious how media/journos bring it up at any given time...

edit: the same SSN reporter just said the same thing again to Alan Smith

The media do this to us all the time purely to torment us but also because they've had enough of Manchester and Chelsea winning it every year. Football would be a cleaner place if Arsenal won the league. :ahee:

Need to perform against the bigger teams to have any chance of a title challenge next season. Only win was against Spurs, and even they had Adebayor sent off, shocking really. We demolish smaller teams but fail to perform against our rivals.

Have to beat/draw against the big teams to win the title.

I've yet to seem a team win the league who has lost most of their matches against the big 4.

Is Wilshire still carrying any injuries? Or is he just not considered to be in form/good enough to make the first 11 right now?

Injured, in the sense he can last 20 minutes as a substitute but not 90 minutes as a starter.

Dont have the players to beat the top teams but we clearly have the foundations OK. Just need to bring in a few top wingers/strikers and a new RB/DM.
