Yup, RoryS is a new deputy leader of Labour I felt another member of the leadership structure was necessary, and I'm sure he'll be a good deputy

The only competition must've been good ol' RONald. I hope RoryS can tone down the whole unwarranted self-importance complex. It's irritating to observe people being irritating with the constant "I demand you do a House update NOW"/"When's the next House update?". Some people just get on my tits, so this is a bit of a meh decision from my perspective. It would have been wise for at least one active person in the leadership team to have a record of actually doing things in the House other than collecting silly titles, stuff like writing decent bills for instance. With TopHat gone temporarily I fear there will, for a short while, be no TSR Labour people actually contributing ideas/arguments. It's worrying that certain parties place little value on real (as opposed to superficial) contributions. You should all encourage your members to engage with bills and form opinions. With that, I'd like to ask, what does the new deputy deputy leader feel he can bring to his Party?

    Ahem.

I've written 2 bills recently, both of which I've actually sent to the Socialists for consideration. It's hardly as if TopHat, while being a good member of the party, totally carries the whole party  The deputy leadership election was also very close, with RoryS winning it in a run-off after votes between 2 candidates were tied.

You're kidding, right? I've not written anything in a while, been busy with exams. I think my last bill was the Devolution Bill. It's been david and Rory who've been carrying the party recently, and they've done extremely well at it. As for the leadership contest, there was actually a genuinely close run-off. We had a tie in the first round that led to a run-off, and the number of voters was the highest I've seen in an internal Labour election. We also have some shiny new members contributing. Things are really looking up.

I'm guessing most of what I say. If the guy actually is completely different in the sub-forums then fair enough I withdraw my whole thing except the thing about the general annoyingness. Looking at the Socialist sub-forum, I see that I am wrong on a certain thing and withdraw my thing about that.

What poor chump lost to Rory?

I will be outlining what I will be bringing to the Labour Party later this week to my Labour colleagues.

If you wish to see what I've posted, I'll PM the post's contents to you if you're that interested...

Is the reserve deputy leader enjoying his new role so far?

His position has changed to simply "deputy leader". I decided it would be easier to have 2 deputies rather than to tier it too much.

Good thinking. Is the new deputy leader enjoying his role so far then?

I suppose so yes, when I have more time on my hands, I will be a better Deputy Leader but for now and I'm just letting it set in.

When I have more moderative powers within the party, I will feel more of a leader. I will be giving a statement to my party this weekend or early next week (due to exams).

Sounds like you're settling in then. Have you taken TopHat's other portfolios then during his absence?

Forgot to say, you should have group leadership powers of the party now

    Thanks David.

    Found where it is

Am I allowed to PM members? I'll probably need to do one for when I do my statement.

Not sure what you mean by 'other portfolios'? Can you elaborate?

TopHat was Shadow Secretary of State for Health I think among other roles. Are you taking all those roles on as well or is TopHat keeping them?

The roles aren't vastly important, it's mostly just a way of prompting people to make motions and bills on a particular topic so that, as a party, we can produce a healthy variety of bills.
