Thanks, I try to view everything through a humane perspective. Let me elaborate what I said earlier in this post. So America's economy is in a crisis, money needed to recover the economy is being spent on war - in Iraq and Afghanistan. The American leaders took the nation to war with Iraq, which they suspected to find WMD's, but never did, surprisingly! Imo, this was an illegal war, since USA just wanted to topple Iraq's economy and steal its resources(NOTE: more civilians were killed in this war than the actual opposition). USA also shortly before, took military action against the terrorists in Afghanistan.
Altogether BILLIONS are being spent on these wars (which come from the tax payers money), yet the American government won't spent a penny (or should i say cent lol) on recovering the economy, or if they will, it's not enough - the working class in America is suffering huge consequences.

Remember, in all of this its the American government who is responsible - not it's people. Obama promised 'change', were is your change now Obama? You are just as worse as Bush and we should give him the benefit of the doubt just because of his skin colour.

Quite a lot issues mentions here, feel free to diagree.
What about the 800 billion( I think) Stimulus?

I think America can be annoying sometimes because they think they invented everything, like the world wide web and Stephen Hawkins, for example.

During the Obama health reform debate, there was an American article about how if Stephen Hawkins was British, he'd be dead by now because the NHS is terrible. Not only is Stephen Hawkins British, but he says he owes his life to the NHS.
In the UK, i think Americans are often portrayed as being stupid. Which may be unfair, but the New York Post did have the headline 'USA wins 1 - 1" when we drew against you in the world cup.
Also reelecting Bush was a huge mistake.
So there are a few reasons i find America annoying...

Americans, on the other hand, I love. They're so friendly!
I get really excited when I hear American accents in the street, they're amazing. I always have the urge to approach them and ask them what state they're from hehe.

    Go to America? No thanks.

America is a vile country, their people think they're the only country that exists. The dumbness in that country is just laughable at times. I don't particular like the American attitudes either, very arrogant like the British!

The only thing that country knows is how to kill innocent women and children across the world. Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Panama, Libya, Vietnam, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Afganistan, Pakistan. I could go on all day!
And you would be wrong on every count. Your calling a country dumb yet you reel off a random list of completely different conflicts that are not connected to each other in any way.

Your really so ignorant that you would compare Nagasaki to Iraq?

List of reasons why i hate America and Americans
    • Patriotism (I think it's stupid) Im sure the Americans care what you think.
    • They screwed over the Indians to get their land
    • They used the first nuclear bomb on Hiroshima & Nagasaki You would rather see 100's of thousands of civilians killed in a land invasion?
    • George Bush Thats democracy for you
    • They're portrayed as either arrogant or ignorant Stereotypes
    • They have stupid laws So do most countries.
    • They have psyco kids running riot in schools with guns committing mass murders Thats hardly the norm for the whole country

    Conclusion. Your a jackass

Well unlike many, I don't hate America because of the amount of fat, useless, arrogant and stupid people that are used to potray America as a whole as I understand it's a minority and a generalisation in this case.

However I don't really like how patriotic they are as I generally don't like patriotism in general; I believe it causes more trouble than it's worth. I also don't really like the silly people they elect into government such as Bush.

Overall I wouldn't say I hate America but I do dislike certain aspects of it. As for hatred it would be directed at individuals or groups not the country as a whole apart from the fact they think their country is better than everyone else. That is just an example of fanaticism as its highest.

0_0 "USA Wins 1-1"? How disappointing that such a mistake was made in a national headline, but I'm glad you like Americans even with the many mistakes we are associated with.

Patriotism is definitely a lesson that I have learned (the hard way) is a very ignorant and petty thing to do so I definitely agree with you.

Concerning the visa issue I really wished I could answer that, but it is not of my place to do so since I dont have the knowledge in that area.

As for your question on Mexicans, that is another issue that I can't even begin to start talking about since I agree with both sides. It follows along the same lines as a hate/love relationship. I dislike the fact that immigrants are taking away jobs for the American's that are here legaly, but I am also the type of person who would try to help another if possible no matter what background they come from.

Oh lighten up people. Here's a little fact for you (that you may or may not know):

New York used to be called New Amsterdam (or New Netherlands, not much difference), in accordance with the Dutch control. When Britain 'took over' we renamed it after the Duke of York Hence New York!

Don't you all feel better now! :teehee:

I wasn't comparing you idiot, I was showing the list of countries the US has attacked. Your telling me the Americans didn't kill Iraqis, those tortues in Abu Gharaib didn't take place did they? I'm sure you loved all that.

You're entitled to like your country. I'm entitled not to. Here's why (a few choice reasons, there are many more)

1.) You are home to more extreme religious fanatics / right-wing nutjobs per capita than any other country since Nazi Germany (with the possible exception of Iran).
2.) For the past 100 years you have flouted the sovereignty of countless other nations to further your own aims, values and religion.
3.) Recently, you set off a war which has cost hundreds of thousands of lives, and we still don't know why you did it.
      4.) You re-elected Bush
5.) The Americans we get to see abroad tend to be loud, arrogant and somewhat brutish.
      6.) You're sore losers.
7.) Some of you actually listen to Glenn Beck.
8.) Others amongst you considered voting for the bimbo-***-lunatic that is Sarah Palin.
9.) You are a country built on immigration, and yet you are now doing your best to persecute immigrants.
      oh and
10.) Despite the guaranteed right to freedom of speech, the liberty which is mentioned so often as sacred in your consitution, and so many other big statements, when a normal, everyday man tries to expose your inner dealings to the public, your leaders accuse him of terrorism and start an international manhunt for him.
11.) Socialism is practically a swearword in your country.
2 and 3 you must hate your own country too then, and just about every country which has, in its history attempting to conquer another land?

I didn't realize how much people from different countries absolutely hate and resent the country that I absolutely love until I came across a post in this student website.

I know I am going to get bashed for this post, but I am already aware of that and am fine with that fact since I just want to understand other countries views.

I am American and I do know that our country isn't the best, but I am still proud to be born and raised here. For all of those who dislike me just because I am one, all I have to say is that you should really travel to see our country, to meet people here our different communities and backgrounds, and just to get to know more us instead of bashing us head on. I apologize for my rambling on, but if you were in my position what would you think? say? or even do?

I want to know what you dislike about my country and why? Please don't be too harsh, I am not trying to insult or piss off anyone. I am merely asking the question to understand peoples views and hear different opinions.
because tsr tends to have a lot of children. children tend to be socialists. socialists tend to be bigoted towards any country with a white majority (including their own) because those countries are the richest in thr world....as for their feelings for israel a country full of rich jews - you can imagine their feelings towards her. children are immature and blame a whole country for the actions of one government and continue to hate that country upon a government change.

oh and one more thing, i think in the USA you would call them 'liberals' its the liberlas who hate america, conservatives, and more importantly those who couldnt give a flying toss about politics (90% of the population) go on about how much they love amerirca and want to live there when theyre older thinking its the most amazing place in the world - im sure its nice but seriously learn that in every forum there is going to be a very homogenous population.

eg on a TV forum you tel them youre american and theyll jizz themselves

      i love america

No. Was my statement offensive? I would never become a politician. I don't have the characteristics to be one. (Please note I am not trying to be offensive. Just answering your question.)
