    Pretty sure it was 1/2
nah the radius was root 20
the gradient of the radius was -2
therefore the gradient of the normal at point A would be 1/2

do you think i'll get the marks for the first bit of the geometric series for using the quadratic formula?

whereas everyones getting a clean fraction i got a decimal which was really close to the fraction and a value of like 18.001 for a

Reading through this thread makes me laugh. This is exactly what it was like last year and the grade boundaries weren't as low as everyone expected because many A2 students that resat the paper did extremely well which raised the boundaries because they prepared for this kind of **** from edexcel. Same thing will happen next year, and the one following that...

It's goodbye to all the Russell group university's that I wanted to apply for since I'm probably gonna get 4 b's at AS and no A's . Surely, they should lower their entry requirements based on this years harder set of exams, especially in the maths and sciences
Nope edexcel will lower their boundaries based on the results but uni's won't change their requirements based on exam success

Naa, the only paper I've seen thats been 58 for an A was Jan 2010, and this paper was a lot easier...

    So I'm thinking 62 for an A
The paper this year was much easier than the paper last year
