My lecturer of Middle Eastern politics.......
And yet you're still unable to provide a citation, and immediately changed the subject to "illegal" Jewish immigration to Palestine, immigration that was expressly permitted under the League of Nations mandate and therefore not within the powers of the British to prohibit

Please provide a citation of Jewish immigrants forcing Arabs out of their home pre-1948

At the expense of a large number of people who were turfed out of their homes to accommodate them and their religious homeland.
No one would have been turfed out of their homes had not the Arabs decided to wipe out the Jewish homeland in 1948. And many, perhaps a majority, voluntarily decided to flee their homes.

Except people from 1948 and 1967 are still alive and so are their families, it's not ancient history, it's still a present issue.
Speaking of 1948 to 1967, why didn't the Palestinians rise up against the "Arab occupiers" Egypt and Jordan? It wouldn't have anything to do with anti-semitism, would it?

Hamas rocket fire from civilian areas
Absolutely revolting. Hamas clearly have no care whatsoever for Palestinian civilians. Indeed, based on their actions and cause and effect, we can only conclude they want Palestinian civilians to die

It's interesting that these people talk about Palestinian civil rights. Whose civil rights?

A few years ago, the ancient Christian community of Gaza went to Bethleham for Christmas, and at the end of their pilgrimage, said to the Israeli authorities, "Please don't make us go back".

Pretty soon there won't be any Christians left in Gaza, a community that has lived there for almost 2000 years. And you want to talk about people being displaced from their homes? Shame on you.

who called you some kind of Islamist?

that argument can go too and fro in that region, where various jewish communties were uprooted by arabs in the various riots prior to british mandate - that is essentially the reason why british decided both muslims and jews should have their own religious homelands

    (Original post by DaveSmith99)
    Pot, kettle, black.
on what exactly? i know all about the history of the region and the origins of both faiths - it strikes me you nothing about either

    (Original post by DaveSmith99)
None of those examples you mentioned are remotely comparable to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
they are all comparable in that they are regions where islam has no origins ( arrived their historically by arab conquest) and local muslim populations have resorted to islamist influence and indeed terrorism in an attempt to seize lands which they view would be governed 'islamically' . you can argue this isnt the issue in palestine, but tot he islamist groups it is. palestinans can leave quite peacefully alongside jewish israel - if they ddint produce rocket firing, suicide bombing islamsits from within their ranks. the problem of islamists stirring up trouble for neighbouring non-muslim countries exist in more places than just palestine : pakistan and india, tajikistan and china , somalia and kenya, sudan and CAR etc etc etc. palestine is simply the earliest and perhaps most significant current agenda for islamists - but these are all agendas on the table for them

    (Original post by DaveSmith99)
They don't want to live in the hell hole that is Israeli-occupied Palestine, neither should they have to.
then they should stop doing deals and being apologists for islamists.

Exactly. Does he want to talk about the Jews of Hebron, who were brutally massacred in 1929?

palestinans can leave quite peacefully alongside jewish israel - if they ddint produce rocket firing, suicide bombing islamsits from within their ranks.
And more importantly, millions of Arab Muslim Palestinians live in Israel!!! There are over 1.6 million Israeli Arabs (Palestinians) living in the State of Israel. They don't have any problems living there, in fact when surveyed they've even said they would prefer to remain under Israeli rule rather than be transferred to some kind of Palestinian state.

And the ancient Druze community of the Levant, they say they would much rather remain in a Jewish state, than be under the rule of the Muslims (with whom they have more in common religiously than the Jews), as a result of the nauseating, thousand-year-long persecution of the Druze at the hands of the Muslims

Civilian casualties are absolutely part of the plan for Hamas. Without them, they have no chance of diplomatic victories.

If they cared, they would have spent some time and money on digging out bunkers for their people, not just tunnels for their terrorists.

As a Hamas spokesman said triumphantly - "we're leading our people to death"

Exactly, you couldn't be more right.

Civilian casualties are part of Hamas' play, its part of their gameplan. Provoking Israel into a massive military response, knowing it will necessarily involve civilian deaths, is Hamas' modus operandi.

given the examples of islamists in various islamic countries persecuting christians etc, im sure all the christians and other minority religions there would rather live under israeli republic than under islamic rule which has slowly seen their eradication in other islamic governed regions

Even Arab Muslim Palestinians prefer to live in a Jewish state! They even started complaining when it was proposed there be land swaps of Israeli settlement areas for majority Arab Palestinian areas in Israel.

Even Palestinians don't want to be part of a "Palestinian state"!

Nice to see your true colours then. You're more concerned with being anti-Muslim rather than pro-peace.
HA. If anything I'm anti-PALESTINE. There's a difference. The Arabs invaded the land in 635CE, they weren't even originally there. After the formation of Israel, the Palestinians have done nothing but attack and try and destroy Israel. I have no sympathy for their people. This is what they have caused.

i assume you are trying to say zionists are the reason for hamas fireing rockets into isreal. Their reasons are irrelevant. Isreal is a nation so defending itself whilst being attacked is reasonable.
Oops, that post had a typo.

Anyway Gaza also has the right to attack Israel to oppose the occupation.

What about the Christians of Gaza, eh? The Palestinian Christians you committed genocide against, and of which there are almost none left, eh?

The bias in modding from TSR with regards to this conflict is disgusting. The topic yesterday which discussed the breaking news of how Hamas were found not responsible for the kidnapping of the 3 teenagers (the excuse which Israel used to justify the murder of over 1000 people), was merged into this topic. Such an important fact which pretty much makes Israel lose whatever credibility it has left, and the mods decided to merge it into this sticky topic, so that instead of the whole of TSR being aware of the lies it was told, it will now only be known by hasbara trolls who will continue to hide/divert/ignore the facts.
You yourself say that those murders were used as a reason for this conflict. By definition it is part of the ideal palastine conflict and hence part of this thread

The Christians of Gaza are Christians and not Muslims and as such they do not celebrate Eid therefore it would be pointless for me to wish them Eid Mubarak
I committed no genocide against them anyway lol

I reiterate, Eid Mubarak to what's left of my fellow Muslims in Gaza, I'm truly sorry that I'm such an impotent creature and cannot do anything substantial to help you against the vile Zionist killers, hopefully in the future that will change

It's also a bizarre preoccupation of theirs given that this present conflict kicked off when Hamas started launching hundreds of rockets at Israel, not after the kidnapping and murder of three innocent Israeli teenage boys
