That's the second 58% turnout in a row now. Would anyone mind greatly if amendments were public polls (but still hidden) so that parties can monitor turnout on them as well?

The speaker can see who voted so you could get the speaker to just publish party turnouts but I would object to them being public.

Why shouldn't they be public like everything else?

I agree. We need to get on top of activity.

Because it opens them up for whipping and amendments shouldn't be whipped.

That's your (and probably your party's) opinion.

and likely the opinion of the house, parties shouldn't be able to dictate the constitution or GD.

It's not like they could ever do it on their own though.

How do you know that other parties don't instruct their MPs on how to vote on amendments?

Well they might, but it's unenforceable because it's hidden. I dislike whips in general but changing the way the house is run via whipping I couldn't stand.

With votes still hidden the whip would be unenforceable until the result was declared.

But it means that MP's could be removed voting down an amendment.

In my humble opinion i think that a tsr labcon coalition would be interesting. It would be interesting to debate people in the coalition thread who are actually to the left of me. When Aph is the moderate voice when it comes to left wing ideology in a party you know that things are a tad extreme as they currently stand.

I understand why she's upset and he has made his apology. A little bit overblown though?
