Cosx=1+/- square root of (1+16k) devided by 8

10. i dont know where people are getting quadratic formula stuff from on q8 part b i just found two factors (4cosx+30 and (cosx-1). is thi wrong

Root 3 will give a plus and minus value
12. How many marks would I lose out of 5 if Forgot to sub my r value back in to find the minimum cost?
13. Such a terrible exam. Geometrics I totally messed it up, even the factor theorm questions omg! It's so unfair how you put so much effort into this and BLADDY edexcel go and give a paper like that!

15. Answer for cosx in terms of k. You get it by completing the square.
16. So, the geometric series one where you had to find a and r.

I wrote down both equations, then did about a page's worth of rearranging and trying to make it work. Ended up with some disgusting cubic. Any idea if I'll get any method marks?

no they asked you the gradient of the tangent, a tangent to any point on a circle in perpendicular
therefore..
normal: 1/2
therefore equation of tangent at the point A:
x-2y-14=0

I got this also! I got gradient of tangent to be -1/3 and +11 too
