Surely they won't knock a mark off?

Cl2 + 3F2 -> 2ClF3

is more aesthetically pleasing than

1/2Cl2 + 1 1/2F2 -> ClF3
:mad:
It was meant to be a like an enthalpy of formation i think

It was something like C13H28 though i thought? We're not taught to name them past 10, well at least I wasn't
oh yeah put that. Is it just me, or does anyone else see the mark schemes screwing us over?

**** reading the comments on the last page I put down C11H24, rather than C13H18, must've missed out C2H4 somewhere if you guys are correct...

What did they ask for again? Butane and I forgot the two other ones.

Yeah same, i thought so too. A lot of the questions were a bit random i thought. Hoefully, others found it hard too and the grade boundaries will be lower!!

The ratio was 1: 2: 1 in favour of ethene so there were 2 ethene molecules to take into account. Maybe you missed one there? The other one was pentene.

They explicitly stated ONE molecule.
Oh well... that's unfortunate. It's annoying because I put the formula as one but then I thought eurgh halves, and doubled everything

Oh it was? Then wasn't my answer of C11H24 correct then?

Cos Butane has 4 carbons, Pent-1-ene has 5 carbons and ethene has 2 carbons right...

I got that aswell. :cry2:

We're allowed to write that, aren't we?

It didn't specifically say 1 mole of ClF3?

And from what i've seen in the mark schemes, they multiply all the coefficients, so they are integers.

I think the mark scheme was screwing you over! Then again, it wasn't that bad. I mean think about it, some people in the world are suffering from malaria! :p:

Yeah, that should be it.

Don't think they will want you to name Polyethene, thats unit 2 stuff :yep:

Producing polymers should be fine

Ohhh yeah cheers for clearing that up. I just added one ethene molecule, dam me for rushing the question.

yeah you're right BUT the questions said in a ratio of 1:2:1 so 2 ethene molecules.

It is AQA after all....

Hmm tbh, I can't think of what the 2 marks would be for. If we don't have to write the equation (it didn't state it in the question), what could the other mark be for?
Spark and high temp? I could be wrong. AQA is stupid. They are incredibly picky and literally all of them were trick questions it's not even like it was 1 or 2 trick questions or something.

Ditto.
Goodbye medicine for me.
The thing is that it was hard but it was do - able they just twisted it a lot!

(Original post by Goldfishy)
Did you have to state the Mr for it? Don't get me worried
Are you saying SO2 for the poisonous gas?

-----

I wonder what bio 1 will be like. Ridiculous. They're all going to be extra hard now.
