good oh I usually do 3 significant figures..would u say if I write the unrounded answers down and then the 3sf next to it..like they can't penalise
if you write (3 sf) next to it, I doubt they can penalise as if you look at the mark schemes, they do often say answer '2 root 3 3.46 awrt. A1'
2. for the question on work energy principle..if my brain serves me right i fink for d 1st part yhu had to calculate the work done against friction so that was (0.25*30gcos20*50) ,so yhu'd get like 3450joules. i did (0.25*30gcos20*50sin20) and i used dat value for d next question.how many marks do u guys reckon i'ld loose for that on the whole....pls i need an answer cus right now i am feeling really sad abut that sill error......
3. done them, will scan and upload

I think u would loose a max of 2 for the first part and none for the second, if they do the mistake carried forward thingy.

Always there Arsey. Thanks.

I would give you a thumbs up but it says I can't as i've rated you previously xD
6. same here XD plz post the ms asap! thnx ALOT! =D

major scanner probs, sorted now...

I thought it seemed a bit too easy

edit Q4a sorted now

Thanks Arsey.

It did seem easy, but everyone here seems to have got different answers for different questions to everyone else.

61 for an A?

Spoiler:
Show

Looks like I got 75/75, possibly my first xD. I always used to get 97 UMS for every exam lol.

Thanks very much Arsey

What would u roughly guess for an A?

I got the same as you for more or less everything. But I was wondering... In 4a, is it right not to include the gravitational potential energy as you have? I think I worked that out and added it to the work done against friction; it seems like a very short question for 6 marks otherwise.
11. ...and in 5b, answer should be to the nearest degree (24 degrees), and also now that I see it's a 6 mark question (4a), I guess the GPE would prbably have to be included.

Thanks Arsey!

Cheers!

Got pretty much the same as what you've done, except for question 4a)

I considered the work done against gravity as well, seeing as it is being pulled up.

I did total work done = work against friction + work against gravity.

To double check, I also resolved the forces parallel to the plane to get an equation for calculating the pulling force.
Total work done would also be pulling force x distance (as pulling force is working against both friction and gravity). This gave me the same answer (~8480J...or something like that)

Are you sure your way is the right one?

From that i got at least 61 marks, but i dont remember what answers i got for 1b) and all of question 4. All the rest i think i got right though.

Once again awesome job on the MS Arsey! Care to hazard a guess at grade boundaries?

Also, are you going to do a MS for todays FP1 exam?
14. for d centre of mass question i got 21,21 instead of 11,11 because i added the centre of mass off the two triangles together ,and then i got 55degrees for the angle as opposed to 24 everone else is getiing...how many marks do yhu guys think i would loose for that...

thanks

can i ask how many marks you think i will get for 7? I made a really really stupid mistake of putting cos(alpha) as root8 instead of root8/3 and used the correct method with this and ended up with a ridiculous answer. I thought I might have resolved wrongly and swapped a cos(alpha) for a sin(alpha) which gave me an answer that looked more realistic. I realise I should have just left it because I thought at the time it shouldn't be sin(alpha) but how many marks do you think I will lose? Will I lose them all for getting cos(alpha) wrong at the start? Or will I get some marks up until I resolved wrongly?
Thanks, really appreciated.
Oh and also, any idea on grade boundaries?

Thanks a lot Just have a few questions - in q4. why don't you include work done against gravity? What do you think the grade boundaries will be? When will you be able to publish your fp1 answers? THANKS
19. For question 3...

For the work done pulling it up the slope 50m I did the frictional force as well as the gravitational force when it should have been just 50 multiplied the frictional force. I worked the frictional foclrce out okay (mew x R) and resolved the weight in the process. How many marks would I lose, the question was worth 6 marks.
20. Are you sure Q4a is right? if ive included friction as well how many marks would i lose? and on Q7 i wrote 0.51, will i lose marks for using only 2sf?
thanks1
