1. I got completely different answers can someone podt their working
2. anyone know the marks for each part of the questions??
3. Was it just me who struggled massively with this? I feel so disappointed.

For 1b wasn't it 15??
No i did that as well

Was suppose to be between t=2 and t=3

Whereas we did between t=0 and t=3

Never seen a question worded like that before

No, don't worry! That was seriously scary, I skipped nearly all the questions at first.

6. That paper was easy but I think I messed up completly, I think I exhausted my brain before the exam, and that cost me.. Anyone know the marks for the questions so I can calculate how many marks I lost....
7. (Original post by Mattematics)
My answers:
Q1) Acceleration: 4 ms^-2 (p = 2, q = -8)
Distance = 11/3 m

Q2) R = 784
P = 4900
d = 58.1 m

Q3) c = 10/3

Q4) Distance below AD = 0.830
Couldn't work out the angle

Q5) R = 5g - something cos^2theta
F = something * dg*costheta*sintheta

d = ~1.94

Q6) lambda = 30/7
v = 10.4 ms^-1
73.3 degrees below horizontal

Q7) e = 1/14
No collision because they're moving the same speed in the same direction

q2 d was 53.1 no? i did it both ways with work energy and normal suvat finding the acc by r3esolving and what not and got the same distance so i think 53.1 is right unless i read 53 as 58
8. anyone know the marks of the 2nd last part of the last question (Find e) ?
9. Please someonr post their workijg so i can see if i got method marks. I may have gotten a U

q2 d was 53.1 no?
Yeah I messed it up Hopefully only 1 or 2 marks lost as I just redid it with the equation I wrote down and got 53.1.

3 marks
12. 1. Quadratic was $2x^2-8x+11$ and $a = 4$ and distance covered in the third second was $\frac{11}{3}$

2. Value for resistance was $R = 784$ and the power of the vehicle was $P = 4900$ and the distance was $53.1$

3. Value for c was $\frac{5 \sqrt{2}}{3}$ but I'm pretty sure this was wrong because alot of others got $\frac{10}{3}$

4. Distance of centre of mass from AD was $0.83$ and the angle was $114$

5. Distance to the centre of mass of the rod from A was $0.26$ but fairly sure this was wrong too. For the vertical component at A I got something like $R = \frac{5}{4}gd \sin\theta \cos\theta$ and for the horizontal component was something like $F_{f} = 5g(1- \frac{1}{4}d \cos^2 \theta)$. Again, these are probably wrong lol.

6. Value for lambda was $\lambda = \frac{30}{7}$. The angle was $73.3$ below the horizontal. Feel like the angle was wrong though. Speed was $\sqrt{109}$.

7. The speeds of A and B after the collision were $\frac{3}{20}u$ and $\frac{21}{10}u$, and the value of e was $e = \frac{1}{14}$. A and B did not collide after B collided with the wall, because although they were going in the same direction, they had equal speeds and so would never meet.Those were my answers

d had to be less than 4 lol

These look familiar - think I got almost exactly these, hope they're right 😭
15. Can anyone explain how the answer for the resistance in question 2 was 784?
16. (Original post by solid222)
For 1b wasn't it 15??
sadly i got the same and its wrong they wanted it from 2 to 3 sec not 0 to 3
17. (Original post by Benjiman118)
So for the last question I wrote out part a) and part b) and got part b wrong (as my e value was not 0<e\<1). I did part a) and b) again on the next page with part c), but forgot to cross out my incorrect answer on the page before. Will i get zero marks as there are two solutions? Or will the examiner ignore the incorrect first attempt and award marks as normal?
I think they have to mark all the attempts you make, so you won't get zero. It's written in some of the mark schemes that students can answer the question more than once and as long as nothing's crossed out, the examiner has to mark all of it. So if you can't decide between two ways of answering a question, just write out both ways and you should get full marks if one of them is right
18. Anyone post workings or questions im worried i got U. i wanna see if my workingsare right

Unofficial Markscheme:

These were mine (didnt see someone else posted)

-----------------

I saved my answers

4
23/3 distance

4900 and 784 for P and R
53.1 distance after engine switched off

10/3 for value of c

1.04 for distance from AD.
161°

Didnt save the long expressions, take moments at A and resolve vert and horiz. Yiu generate P from m(A) and you sub that back in to R(up) and R(-->
d=2.56 (I changed this last minute, made a mistake) --moments question

4.3 for speed? 163° bearing

Speed of A 3/20u (left)
Speed of B 21/20u (right)
e=1/14
They do not collide as rebound velocity is 3/20u

i got 10.4 for speed and 73.6 degrees below horizontal
