Fair enough, thats the end of that conversation as far as I'm concerned.

Back onto topic, I have my RAF initial presentation at my local AFCO tomorrow. Slightly nervous but I'm sure that I'll survive!
No need to be nervous about the presentation. They're not going to do anything more than tell you what happens when you come back. It's a nice chance to meet some of the AFCO staff though. Let us know how it goes. Which AFCO?

Oh, and everytime I come on here, you're always on this message board!!!!
That's an unusual insult. That implies that every time she comes on, you're always here.

Perhaps you should take chat like this to private messages; or even better, away altogether?

Sorry to say this, but he does have a point.
It's alright to send messages to people saying (quote) "I bet you're the ugliest geek ever, I hope you die" on a forum like this? From what I can tell, her only crime was to disagree with someone here who's not had an enormous amount of decent comment to add to any threads Nikki's been involved in.

I certainly did my best to shoot down the person in question, saying a lot more to him than Nikki did; why didn't I get a series of PMs wishing me dead?

If you can't take debate, perhaps you shouldn't be on a discussion forum. Nikki's added a lot to these threads, and if someone disagrees with her they should be smart enough to discuss it; not result to behaving like they're 12 again. Grow up.

Don't know if you will read this in time, but anyway...

    - You'll survive if you take a buttocks cushion! (My arse was dead after 2 hours)
    - Dress smart, where a suit.
    - Refresh your memory on aircraft recognition and weapons + other kit the RAF use. The Cpl taking the lecture tested us with a few pics. (There will probably be a cadet in the back who cant resist calling the answers out anyway)
    - The Cpl will explain about the filter interview and ask similar questions you should expect to come up, e.g. "What makes you better than the person sat next to you?" Don't panic, these questions are rhetorical questions.
    - Take a note pad and pen.
    -Ask questions

    Rhys

Thanks for the advice Rhys! It wasn't too bad actually, although there was a bit too much info to take in, but other than that things went fine! Cheers.

I'd like to see the brain that thought that was actually anything resembling proper English grammar.

I think after nearly 10 years of service you're allowed to stop calling yourself a wannabe.

    So how did it go?

I'll post a reply on the other thread, which seems more appropriate given the nature of this one!

Perhaps we should consider not putting any more posts on here as it just seems to be a thread for some people's personal amusement; regardless of the distasteful nature or upset certain comments may cause.

wow talk about nit picking to the extreme. you seem to spend far too much time here to be flying.

oh and, " I'd like to see the brain that thought that was actually anything resembling proper English grammar. " doesn't actually make sense

    it's awkwardly worded

During a day flying a couple of one or two hour sorties, what would you have me do for the rest of the time? Stare into space? You'll notice the number of my posts that were made in the evening; tell you something? If I spend too much time on here with my small number of posts, what does that tell us about you?

If you think my sentence was awkwardly worded, I can't believe you left yours unedited.

I notice that you're also Tripple, and flyer2k3 after all this. You have the temerity to criticise other people when you're sitting here having conversations with yourself?

nonono, this is where you are wrong. They are friends. That was some guy concocting an imaginary list adding a few peoples names who were morons on this board, just to try to make me look bad.

Me? I own you in anything, academic, chess, mental arithmetic, anything.

    trust me.

That's perhaps one of the most unusual comments I've ever read. What are you basing that on?

I'm not very happy about being pulled into childish mudslinging contests like this. I'm certainly not impressed about being compared to a kid with a sticky shift key and a place at the University of Essex.

Academics? I've got a very good degree from a very good university. Where was your institution last time league tables were printed. If those are your A level results following your username then you most certainly don't have anything over me! Chess? Feel free, I don't play it. Mental arithmetic? I'm sharp enough to do everything I need to in the air; what makes you think you're better?

    "Own" me? Please. Grow up.

So what? I was going to read dentistry but it just wasn't right for me and the reason for me going to essex was simple: they offered me an amazing course and the university is 5 miles down the road , ........ loftx and pencil go there..... loftx got AAB btw..... I own you and that's a fact, and yes, I did attain those grades.

while i have lots of fun at university, i'll graduate and will be on more money than you could ever wish for, you'll still be in the RAF commiting your ass for 12 or so years, getting orders, dressing up in crap, wearing those berets on your head, " YES SIR, YES SIR "

oh, and i'm much younger than you, and will show you up in any quiz, any chess game, any general knowledge stuff anytime anyday(sorry, i just pick it up quickly)

oh....... and this is me. (you'll need to click it)

    Peace

Ok, you say peace at the end of your rant, when the rant in itself appears designed to provoke Wzz.
Really just give it a rest
You may wish to have a go at the RAF but think about this, its an entirely voluntary service, he went into it as he wanted it, He obtained a degree, so had other options he could have persued if he wished, but chose the RAF. He wasn't forced via conscription.
Are you aware of the wage levels that the RAF offers?
And where do you get off on this own thing. Come on, your only starting uni, your still a young one with no uni education yet, and yet you say you own someone and are going to get the megabucks job. Nothing in life is guarantied. Just because you obtain a degree it does not give you the right to get the job you want, you've got to earn it, prove to them why your better suited then anyone else

provoke wzz? i'm simply putting across my opinionated views and informing him of things he needs to get right!

Even if I don't get a job that pays as well as i hoped, i still got my parents which thankfully have good careers and are very very well off from my grandparents.

is it not ok to have ambitions in life? that's a rhetorical question by the way before you start to answer
