Ditto bun really, the speed of which one case of swear avoidance turned into an attack on Jarred and other members of the MHoC was shocking. Jarred did exactly what he was supposed to, and did so swiftly. The questioning of Jarred's neutrality and integrity as a Speaker was awful considering his sizeable contribution to the stability and workings of the House. Any way, new bar rule. No discussions of Clarkson.
yeah how dare anyone be offended by racism

new bar rule, no discussions of anything you know you are the wrong side of the debate on then basically? pathetic.

Perhaps it would be better now if we changed the subject. CS has already given his response to the matter and instead we should move on. If people don't like what has happened, CS has spelled out the options very clearly to everyone - there really is NO need to carry on this argument to the detriment of the House.

The only people to have acted pathetically are you lot. Please don't ruin what is a pretty good community, where we can get on with everyone because you have some deep seated anger management and personal issues attached to the highest horse in England. Move on like the rest of us have from this unsavoury incident, or frankly leave MHoC so the rest of us can continue to enjoy it

pfft, I am not the one being racist or defending racism, if this House is to declare itself RACIST AND PROUD OF IT then I may well leave you to rot in it.

so disagreeing with racism is "stirring up trouble" to you?

he used the rhyme and even admitted to using the word and pathetically trying to hide it by mumbling it...I am not sentencing him to anything either, and by the way if you know me at all you would know I fully oppose the death penalty.

I like how you say I am stirring things up whereas you have basically done that tenfold with your reply, you people are a bad joke.
The two most prominent recent cases, the strikers: Sarcasm, after saying he loved the strikers, because they freed up roads or something. 'Slope', the bridge had a slope on, I do not believe there was any intention for racism there, just a nobody trying to stir up work. With the 'n' word, good chance he didn't use it, combined with the fact that Top Gear is 'edgy' means that the clip should have been deleted. What is more worrying is the BBCs integrity problem if Morgan and the Mirror can gain access to that. PC-nes has gone too far, the word is wrong, however in private conversation it should be allowed, it was not directed at anyone or said with any hate, if it was broadcast then it would be a completely different matter.

yes how dare the media by offended by an incredibly offensive racist remark  it's almost like we have a multicultural society where racism is rightly illegal.
People are rightfully offended at the word used, however the clip itself was never meant to be broadcast and the person saying it did not appear to be at all comfortable with using it.

I think that this is all much ado about nothing.

I agree with this As stated, I do apologise for bringing it up again in this thread, but I'd rather not remain silent on the issue. Anyway, I'll unwatch this thread now and it's very much back in Jarred's hands. I only came in to make that brief statement. :yy:

I don't know why I'm surprised that the people in this place are so sheltered.

Do you have any evidence to suggest that he would have been comfortable using that word were the cameras to be off?

What has happened to this place? Everyone is so angry and malicious, I can see why moderators find it unwelcoming.

His past use of derogatory language to attack numerous ethnic and cultural groups as well as the disabled. I can't tell you what he was thinking - a man with a history of saying racist things said a dreadfully racist thing that I doubt he meant to say. Now, you can argue that he didn't mean to say it because he suddenly isn't racist, or you can argue that he didn't want to say it because he knows that his million pound plus salary depends on him not crossing a certain line.

Sounds about right thats what you get for holding it in bloody London every time

Years ago we had a few socialist meets and we almost had one this past year.

EDIT: On an unrelated note to the above, its clear what JC said.

If anything the last year here (bar TMD) has been remarkably quiet in terms of drama. The Mhoc has never been a stranger to shall we say 'oversensitive' types.

It's probably worse because not been a specific mentality forum you have people who want stuff censored in direct contact with people who want free speech so there's no consensus and some people get attacked.

I myself was accused of being a racist by at least one person here (my fellow Tories disagreed). And I've been subjected to one or two immature personal attacks here.

Aye, they always come to naught. If anything i think the flaw is in the lack of leadership, forget electing a time and place and just pick one then advertise it.

I agree that it's clear that he used the word but i don't think he said it maliciously or used in the context of even another person (i.e that x). It's just an outtake that was never going to be on TV and that to me is simply free speech of questionable taste. It's no worse to me than the football discussion the other week regarding divers been called a certain word, it's not meant to mean anything literally.
