Manchester Met emailed me asking for more info on the higher education I did between 2005-07 before they can make a decision....

I've two unconditional offers but to start at Level 0, which I really don't want as I've done science foundation bar 10 credits... Anyway I'm trying not to get too excited but I think it's a positive sign

    Yes?!

31st March was the recommended deadline for unis to reply (for those who applied by the January 22nd deadline). However, the actual deadline is sometime in May, at which point if there are still outstanding decisions, UCAS changes them to "Unsuccessful" on the universities' behalf. I've never heard of that to happen to anyone I know, though.

As well as that, UCAS Extra is still running, so some students might be waiting for their Extra uni to reply, and that process can run and take up until July if necessary.

Still waiting for Winchester. I emailed them to advise that I had not received any correspondence since my application at the start of January. They replied saying that I had been unsuccessful, and they would inform me if I am suitable for another course.

Fine, but I have a sneaking suspicion they lost my application. I've already been accepted to Kent for Journalism, which is a much better uni and course, but I'm still going to kick up about it. I exceeded the top end of their entry requirements by 100 points, and have relevant work experience (about a year and a half.)

    We'll see what happens....

    Hello,

I received an e-mail end of March from Manchester University saying they will make a decision on my application after Easter.

Do they class Easter as the 2 bank holidays or the whole 2 weeks? If so they need to stop enjoying the sunshine and make my decision!!! lol

Who can say? No doubt it will vary from uni to uni. I'm afraid patience is the order of the day here

Then wait until they've made a decision. You have nothing to lose by doing so.
