1. ffs. for finding the x for Q. i got 1

Will i get carry forward marks?
2. (Original post by hxllyb)
on Q8 I forgot how to differentiate 3^x, so i rearrange y = 3^x to lny = xln3,so when differentiated i got dy/dx = xy/3 so dy/dx = 6, which gave me the tangent line y = 6x -3, which looked right on the diagram. I dont understand how this made me get such different answers as no logs included. Please can someone tell me if/what i have done wrong and if i would still get any method marks?
anyone??

thankyou for this :-) I'm impressed with your memory hahaha

me !!!
Let u = 2x
etc etc

I let made it so much easier.
4. For the last question, i used (2-1/ln3) as the radius instead of 9. how many marks would I lose??
5. (Original post by Gooseyman)
i got -12 too buddy
Cheers it helps knowing someone else got the same answer
6. How do you intergrate 3^2x for the last question?!
7. Total marks for questions 2 anyone?

8. Does anyone think i'd get any method marks if i used 4000 instead of 4 for the population question?
(Left it hoping i had time to come back to it but i didn't -_-) frustrating to know i got a question wrong because i didn't read the question properly.

Yes but I simplified the logs (cant remembere if it asked for it in its simplest form tho)
You cannot simplify that further

Yes I did What substitution did you use?
11. boundary predictions?
12. (Original post by geetu123)
Nice nice thanks !

How many method marks would you get for the implicit diffrentiaion if you didnt solve after the quadratic????
I'd guess up until the substitution to get the quadratic, there would be 2 method marks, then 2 marks for obtaining the values of x then the last 2 for getting the y values and stating the coordinates

got k=2 instead of k=4, would i get ecf marks?
k was 4?!?!?!?! You sure????
14. (Original post by Paublo)
think that 7a is 1/P-2 - 1/P
Yes sorry you're right I wrote this down in a hurry
15. (Original post by RH0909)
anyone?
you should be able to get the 'method marks' for the second part but you'd lose the accuracy mark. How much Method/accuracy marks are annotated is a mystery however.

k was 4?!?!?!?! You sure????
That's what people were saying, I got 2 lol.

Lol i just did it in my head

i got k was 2.... ?!?!?!!?!
19. (Original post by Emmi12345)
I know. I was getting muddled up with someone previously saying it was 3 to the x squared. That is not what I meant at all. I removed the comment, hahaha I look like such an idiot, oops.
It's like saying 2 + 1 doesn't equal 3... oh dear...
Sorry, I wouldn't have picked up on it if I knew. If it's any consolation, I make hundreds of ridiculous claims and errors when I do work even at undergraduate level.

i got k was 2.... ?!?!?!!?!
