1. For Q8 i.: If i did the simplifying wrong and did the solving right and got about 9 solutions ( 6 wrong, but the other 3 correct) will I get any marks at all out of 3?
2. (Original post by prithika98)
Damn!! Would I lose a mark for that?
Yeah you would, I made the same mistake
3. Found it alright, but just like other people have said, many found it extremely hard.Let's all hope for low grade boundaries!

The M1 paper last year was definitely the most challenging AS module

although you got a 100..
Yes I would agree that it was 1000% the hardest module.
Honestly I wouldnt be surprised to see a paper even harder this year.

That's why I haven't got my hopes up
Since doing c4 though, hoping the second last or last question would be a vectors question

Well that's a spelling I haven't seen before

I'd say two out of five marks lost.

12. I think I've got an A/B border in C1 and a B in C2
13. For question 3 I used difference of two squares and factorised it to
F(x)=(2x+1)(√3x-4√3)(√3x+4√3)
Is this correct or is this not 'fully' factorised? How many marks would I get?
14. Anybody here agree that this is a lot more easier than a walk in the park comparing to that a**hole m3 paper?

Anyways do you think my chances of getting 100% are gone because I didn't alter my sign in the geometric series(that ****ty log...). Although in the end I assessed the answer and wrote n=28
15. Flopped that :/
16. Is the unofficial mark scheme out yet?
17. Are there any threads for S1 and M1?
18. for 8(ii) the question was 4sin^2 x+ cosx= 4-k
a) find k in terms of cos x.
b) when k=3, find x from 0<x<360

for a) i got 4cos^2 x-cos x=k
cos x(4cosx-1)=k
cos x =k or cos x=(1+k)/4

( Best Case Scenario )
70ums c2
90ums c1
so 80 ums needed in M1

Worst Case Scenario (Taking Jan 2013 boundaries for c2)
C2- 64 ums
C1 - 80ums
therefore 96 in m1
My Best Case Scenario:
C1: 70 UMS
C2: 53 UMS
So: 57 UMS Required in S1 for a C (87 for a B)
20. would anyone be able to tell me what sort of grade ill be looking at with 64/75 for c1, 45/75 for c2, 56-62/75 for s1. Thanks
