Ahh how was it? I'm from Leicester but living in Southampton so haven't had a chance to go to an open evening! Yeh fingers crossed! There's so many people on here that have interviews and it seems to be for the same few uni's...
It was good and everyone was really friendly. They organised it well and had current students and NQT's there who would come and talk to you about it all. Basically get ready for a very tough year but it will be totally worth it in the end

When did you hear back about your interview? Hoping the don't take too much longer to let us know!
I applied on 28th November and got the interview invite on Thursday. The wait is really stressful. I just need to hear back from the others now!

researching the numeracy test is freaking me out! any tips on where to look or books to buy?

the literacy doesn't seem so bad!

always though i was good at maths though lol
Go online to numeracy ready. It costs £20 but you get 20 practice tests and lots of help videos and tips. I think it's great value. I passed last week and am so relieved they are both out of the way now. Good luck.

Does anyone know, if you get a conditional offer can you still go to other interviews?! Not that you'd need to but nothings changed on my UCAS track. Thank you

Oh ok thanks that's good to know. At least they test your science knowledge with questions we know before hand so that's a bit nicer as physics is not my strongest point. I took it to AS level but still found it incredibly hard! And was the written bit at the end just to test your English I presume?
Pretty much. I can't say anything else without giving too much away, but it's nothing taxing at all.

Yeah I went to the open day at Leics on Thursday and everyone was really friendly and helpful. Hopefully I'll start hearing back soon because I go back home to Wales on Friday so need to know whether I need to make any travel arrangements to get back up this way

I want to talk about the changes to curriculum, PISA and general teaching standards.

Is there anywhere you recommend for EAL and SEN?
I haven't found anywhere specific, just what I know from my own experience and just researching on google

Anybody else interviewing at Goldsmiths for primary on Tuesday? I received the invite Thursday evening so I'm hoping I'll be well enough prepared by then. There's a maths and phonics test but I'm crossing fingers the maths is more KS2 focused as I don't have all that much time to revise/prepare and would rather not spend it preparing for one short test. I'm a little nervous about the group discussion bit - I think I would have preferred a presentation as it's something concrete to prepare for.

Don't panic. Sometimes presentations involve group discussions about them afterwards anyway. Just be prepared to listen to what others say and build on it., And remember you could in theory all get through... it doesn't have to be a competition. They want you to show knowledge, passion and the ability to look at things from different perspectives. If you have those, don't panic!

Yep I'll be there on Wednesday as well! For Primary PGCE.

    How's prep going?
Do either of you know whether the course itself (if we were successful) is predominantly based in Didsbury where the interview is, or whether it's at the University in the town centre?
