My single friend just got out of a long term relationship, and is like me - off men for a while... It just sucks when everyone is busy at the weekends so I don't really have anyone to see/anything to do
My friend has seen how 'lovey' and 'weak' and 'soppy' people get in relationships so she doesn't want none of it at the moment I find it a bit strange!

Yeah, I know what you mean about everyone being busy. It's either they're with their other half, or they're busy revising/doing uni work, especially at this time of year.

Very strange of your friend! But each to their own I guess

I didn't keep in touch with many of my friends from home - one sees her bf every weekend, one works at the weekend and is very busy with uni work (she's here at Portsmouth uni) and two others are away at uni now - I only have one single friend here! Most of my other friends are at uni/were at uni and so are far away

You think that's dark ages? Try being on dial up internet til less than a year ago, WITH that version of IE :p:

I don't want to step on Bianca's toes cos she might do it tomorrow (we don't generally do PSs if someone has said they would do it) but I can give you some general tips in a PM if you want? Then you can say you've posted a redraft and she can review that?

Just got back from 'babysitting' my best friend's bf while she's at work. Had a nice chat Just wish that more than one of my friends from home was single
That'd be awesome, thanks! Only if you have a spare moment or two though.

I've only got the one other best friend who's single too, but she's against relationships until after university :yep:

It kind of worked out the same with me, but not by choice!

    No problem

As for me and relationships - my ex was my first (and therefore only) bf, who I was with for nearly two years...

Same, though together for 10 months.

I broke up with my ex - my first proper [ie, none <14 schoolfriend] girlfriend - 2 years and a half years ago after being with her for just short of 6 months.

    It's not been fun since.

:hugs: You're pretty as well, looking from your profile! It's not like I'm fat either, and I don't think I'm bad looking...

    She is a bit! :p:

It never comes down to looks though.

Having said that, if it did, it would explain a lot for me!

Yeah I know - but a lot of people automatically think 'single for a long time - they must be fat and/or ugly' which is rather unfair I went to an all-girls school til I was 16, which I don't think helped at all

Yeah, I know what you mean.

You've got far better mitigating circumstances than I!

What about the other almost 6 years (4 years if you're talking about the time I was single when I've been around guys on a regular basis)

I think it comes down to confidence, and who you know/where you find yourself.

    This.

Poor timing/pickiness/picking the wrong girls/wanting what I can't have as well as generally being chronically underconfident have all conspired to make me who I am.

Yeah that does explain it... I'm crap at flirting and get all nervous around guys I like/guys I know like me, so that really doesn't help... Going into teaching isn't exactly a great way to meet guys either lol
