No, I go to a state comprehensive. I'm sure some schools do it and some don't though! Have any of your school friends been contacted?

There are people on the offer holder pages saying they've already got their results
Oh okay! I don't think so, I don't want to ask in case I incite panic....

I don't think it's a private/state thing, it just depends on the school. I know my school doesn't do it, the local press just comes in on the day and interview people then without forewarning. Please don't get worried, it seriously doesn't mean anything!
    Okay then, thank you!

I hope so! I haven't heard anything, but I know that my school usually has photos for that kind of thing
I think mine does too but they never get a professional photographer, the receptionist does it, so I guess they would have no reason to tell people haha

Don't panic if your school hasn't called you, mine never does.

Last year I got my 4A*s, found out my results, left, then go asked through a friend who was still there to come back for photos for local newspapers -.-

Do you reckon exams officers at school know the conditions for our offers?

At my school exams officers didn't, but our head of year/of sixth form and tutors were around the day before results and day of and knew offers

Yeah I was asked to go in for press & photos too, but might that just be due to my predictions not actually my results?

No, your school will know. Prepare for photos nervously holding envelopes and/or jumping with pieces of paper, or in my cringeworthy case, swinging off the school gates with a big cardboard A. :p:

(Fortunately I'm old enough that the local newspaper in question appears not to have online archives of this...)

    Good luck all of you!

lol there should be no nerves. Hold your results envelopes proudly aloft, kids, and soak up the spotlight while you can. It won't follow you to Cambridge.

Just wanted to say best of luck to all. Don't worry if you've not been contacted by your school. Not all schools do that. I don't quite remember how the day went (I was rather hungover) but I'm fairly sure I had to be called back in after picking up my results and going home too.

They were a better idea than what most people do: sit and either fret or just generally be restless.

My cambridge results day tactic was always go out the night before, remain asleep until mid-afternoon and hope by then that results were out. Saves the prolonged misery of f5ing camsis.
