The most powerful economic tools do not fall under the Chancellor's reign which limits the potential damage, but I hope a lot of the ideas he has promoted are left out of the budget.

I congratulate my friend the PM on a refreshing and promising new Cabinet. Some new names have got their chance to shine and I see some well deserved promotions too.

We could even bring into question the matter of it being done on time since, by his own admission, James has little time at the moment and it's hardly a small job, with it expected in the coming weeks should it not, at this point, be little more than finishing touches.

I have assurances that James will complete this task, and he was appointed to the role given his excellent work as Environment Secretary.

Given you've never witnessed the writing of a Budget I won't worry too much about where you think we ought to be at.

Was this "excellence" before or after admitting minimal time, I don't quite remember?

I've spoken to James about the amount of time he has.

Excellent Cabinet. Very pleased to see James Milibanter receive recognition for the excellent work he does around here. Still a bit worried about an ex-Tory in thehistorybore for Justice given Gove's track record but I'll be nice and reserve judgment.

Not sure if I'm technically allowed to ask this ITT but here goes: what plans does cranbrook_aspie have for his position?

My primary focus will be implementing the adult part of the National Education Service, one of Labour's biggest manifesto pledges on which I'll hopefully be co-operating to a degree with junaidk7, but as Business Sec I'll try and get a couple of good old socialist bills out as well

For the record, I loathe Gove and all of his works. In regards to the law, I hold quite libertarian views so you have little to be concerned about.

    I Know Right !
    1)
Should be " Secretary of State for the Home Department " and " Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government "
    2)
" Secretary of State for Constitutional Reform, Devolution and International Development " Doesn't Exist . It should be Secretary of state for international development . Devolution comes under local government
    3)
" Secretary of State for Climate Change, Culture and Communications " doesn't exist. should be " Secretary of state for energy and climate change . And " Secretary of state for Culture , media and sport "
    4)
"Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Lifelong Learning " Doesn't Exist , should be " Secretary of State for Business, skills and innovation"
    5) No DEFRA ?
So we have a made up cabinet... Congrats

They have mostly done what we have done in rolling departments together, but there is also introducing unnecessary "progressive" things as major parts of departments, and of course damn Rural Affairs, that helps the opposition people.

So you're now suggesting that you loathe Gove and what he does but want to do the same things. Self loathing generally isn't a good sign.

    It's called merging departments.

Also, Gove changed the name of his department when he was Education Secretary

And don't you think Department of Energy, Environment, Climate Change, Culture, Communications and Connectivity is a bit of a mouthful, for example?
