Ahaha well I'll hopefully be applying there for maths and preparing for my STEP exams!

I thought I saw you on the threads posting about your STEP results and seeing you chatting with people who got accepted into Cambridge this year ahaha! So I assumed you were off to Trinity ahahaha!

I took a look at some STEP past papers and was overwhelmed by the problems. Sounds like you're really good at Maths. Take Additional Further Maths if you can.

I like browsing the STEP prep threads because of the banter they have with each other. Dedicated Maths students are funny to me.

Kind notice from a fellow Y13...

If you're in Y12 and you're going to an open day this Autumn, please do not go to any of the talks! It's really unfair on the Y13s who are there to see them but have fully booked because a few people in lower years have taken the seats.

By all means look around if you want to, but you've got next year to attend the talks. Y13 peeps don't have that chance.

I'm an aspiring future Cambridge CompSci

    At GCSE I got:
    Spoiler:
    Show
    A*A*A*A*A*A*A*A*A*A*ABB - 10 A*s, 1 A, 2 Bs

    Mathematics - A*
    Further Mathematics - A*
    English Language - A*
    English Literature - A*
    Biology - A*
    Chemistry - A*
    Physics - A*
    Economics - A*
    Computing - A*
    History - A*
    Art - A
    Classical Civilisation - B
    French - B

The B in class civ really bothered me as I was predicted A/A*, and the French was minorly disappointing as I wanted an A - though I still made good progress, in Year 10 I had a D in French and an E in Art! Oh well though, I don't think Cambridge will have a massive issue with 2 Bs though as the rest is good and they don't care about GCSEs too much anyway, do they?

    At A-level I'm studying:
    Spoiler:
    Show
    Mathematics (Pre-U)
    Further Mathematics (Pre-U)
    Physics (A-level)
    Computer Science (A-level)

    + Self-Studying Economics AS-level + doing an EPQ

Gl all for the next two years

    - Introduce yourself:

Hello, my name is Francis! I start sixth form on Tuesday.

    - What are your hobbies and interests?

I like to write and read. My all time favourite book is currently Wuthering Heights. I love European history, in particular Russian history - and anything to do with empires or monarchs or conspiracies I will be interested in. I love biology and chemistry. You'll often find me reading random Wikipedia articles for hours. TV shows > movies.

What subjects are you planning to take?

Biology, chemistry, maths and philosophy and ethics.

    Favourite subject?

I love all the subjects I'm planning on taking - but biology has to take the crown.

I'm considering doing a natural sciences degree (providing I get in) and then doing a postgraduate conversion course for Law, as opposed to doing a straight law degree.

Exactly! I can go from looking up something on a tv show I'm watching to the demographics of Uzbekistan. It takes up the majority of my day tbh

    Hi there,

I'm Manpreet and I live in West London.
Going onto study Stats, Economics and Geo at ALevel and hopefully make my way into doing an Economics degree.
Reading through the thread, I haven't noticed many aspiring economists so give me a shout if you're one of them!

I just completed a paid internship at Moodys Investors Service at Canary Wharf and I feel like it's going to give me a real boost when it comes to levels of experience.
I'd love to share my account of working in a real corporate environment and also whether anyone has already completed an internship!!

That's good that you've started networking, my brother works for Merill Lynch BoA; he started his internship in his last year at Uni but started his first ever internship at Coutts in his first year. That's good that you're starting earlier, I want to be a lawyer and have a family friend who will set me up with an internship next summer.
