/cough.. um yes it is, obviously it's not perfect, but it's the closest "SIMULATION" that we have to actual football, you do understand what a simulation is right? lol, I don't see what argument you're trying to make with that comment. As for the rest of you comment, saying that we don't have the money is false. What you mean lady, is that we might not have the reputation, which is arguable. So this whole comment is full of semantics, good try though.
FM is a much better simulation than FIFA.

Arsenal can't and won't offer the wages to steal a player like Pogba away from Juventus, and why would he want to leave the Italian champions were he's had a decent amount of playing time to join a club who haven't won anything in 8 years, and why would Juventus want to sell one of the most promising young players in the world. The same goes for Higuain (who's apparently Juventus bound as well), although granted, there is a higher chance of Arsenal signing Higuain than Pogba.

Yes, I understand what a simulation is, but thank you for trying to be condescending anyway. And no, when I say we don't have the money I mean we don't have the money. Our targets for this summer are a striker and a DM. Say we sign Pogba for £25m, offer him a 5 year contract on £120k a week, then I'm not good maths but that's at least £20m in wages.so we spend £45m on a player in a position we don't need. Bear in mind we only have a transfer kitty of £70m, so after that we've only got £25m to buy a top DM AND a top striker including wages. Yeah, good luck with that.

I'd be interested in hearing why you think FIFA is so alike to actual football. See, my ex was obsessed with it and used to play as Cheltenham Town against myself being Arsenal, with Cheltenham usually winning by a 3 goal gap. Are you saying if Cheltenham arranged a friendly with Arsenal this summer, they'd beat us 3-0?

Great to know. :yep: I heard about Crowley and his supposedly completed transfer to Arsenal a couple of weeks ago from hogso in the Villa Thread. He's been dubbed the next Wilshere, and looks pretty good on YouTube so far. :p: Are you sure he's 17? I was under the impression he was 15...

Not heard of Selva before. :holmes: To be completely honest, I'm pretty wary about signing Barca youth players nowadays. Just seems like asking for the whole 'Barca DNA' circus again. :grumble:
Beg my pardon, yes he is 15. 16 in August. Plays for England U17's and broke into Aston Villaks U16 team at the age of 12! Aston Villa won the NextGen series and everyone knows they do have an impressive youth set up. Not sure about labelling him the next Wilshere as obviously that's huge prssure to live up to.
On the main Villa forum (Villatalk) they seem gutted that he's leaving, and talk very highly of him. Some were even saying he could have broken into their first team in a year or two!

The transfer budget doesn't included wages and our wage celling will be relaxed. Did you factor in the youth cuts and the deadwood leaving ?

I'm not trying to be an ass.. just this thread has brought out the worst in me. Ok so to your respone..

I still have to disagree with you (surprise eh) If we were to pay a player 120K a week, it wouldn't have effect of the transfer budget, Your mixing things up. There is actually a separation of wage budgets and transfer budgets. Although I do agree, 20M in wages for a player in the long run is very hefty.

Don't forget that we have also signed sponsorship deals with Emirates and Puma that will garner us close close to 1/4 billion in the next 6 years.. Arsenal is an amazingly wealthy and stable club, I don't know why people are acting like we cant pay the big bucks.

Can I ask where you get this information about Arsenals transfer capabilities from? Are you working for their transfers department? I'll let you into a little secret, a tangible one. Arsenal are one of the worlds richest clubs, not to add, financially stable. Many don't know, but Arsenal's payout in wages is very close to that of ManU and Chelsea, how you ask? We don't pay a few players a ridiculous amount of money, Arsenal uses a more socialist wage structure, almost all the first team players are making at least 50k per week. Think before you spew stuff mate.

I can get barca B playing 80% possession against 5 star teams and score freekicks at the rate of 1 in 2 with anyone over 80. Fifa is realistic. Mate you're on one.

I applaud you if that was in fifa13, with me I scored a right footed finesse shot from 25 yards with barzaghli.

When I say £70m it's to be taken with a pinch of salt - it's the number the media always tends to shout out. Truth is, only Wenger and the board know the real number. I factored the transfer and wage budgets together as everyone knows how awful our wage structure is so who knows what our limit for that is. My point was firstly if we were to sign a huge player like Pogba (who isn't a DM or a striker, the two positions we need to spend on), then the quality of DM/striker we can buy after that will be considerably lower. Look at Falcao, he's chosen insane wages over playing Champions League and considering he signed a 5 year contract with Monaco he'll be there at least 2 years. If Juventus said Pogba was for sale and we offered £25m, sugardaddy clubs like City and PSG can offer double that. Then the BIG clubs with their own money like United and Bayern can also offer more than we can. So - and think about this from a completely non-Arsenal fan point of view - why would Pogba choose Arsenal over PSG, Monaco, Bayern, City, United, etc? Money-wise and reputation wise. I know about FFP but that's going to take years to come into effect and we're talking about this summer. Puma sponsormoney also doesn't kick in until summer 2014

.youth cuts make next to no difference to bank accountsm. Deadwood wages should, however we still have Denilson/Bendtner/Santos etc. Hopefully with Arshavin and Squillaci leaving this summer it'll make some difference though.

Fifa's piss easy anyway. 97% of the people who play it are abysmal anyway to the point I let them win games because I've been steamrolling people 8-0

Bit ironic coming from the guy who thinks next years CL is Arsenal's to lose if they sign Higuain...

So you can speculate on Arsenal's transfers, but I can't? I take it you do work for Arsenal's transfer department then. I'm not disputing the fact that Arsenal are rich, but as you said, Arsenal don't pay players ridiculous amounts, and Pogba would not move cheaply (wage wise) from Juventus, as tbh there's little other incentive. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that I think it's very unlikely. And even if Pogba was available, there'd be nothing to stop a club like PSG/Monaco/Chelsea/City happily offering him and Juventus more money than Arsenal. I don't even know why this is being discussed so thoroughly, there's been virtually no talk of Pogba even leaving Juventus, let alone coming to Arsenal bar you talking about it on here and a Daily Mirror article based on pure speculation.

At least Higuain is a more realistic point for discussion, although if his talks with Juventus have progressed as far as reported, and the same with Jovetic and Arsenal, then that also seems somewhat unlikely.
