It took me a whole 20 minutes to figure out that I'd need to apply the difference of two squares for that trig question!

However, I felt that paper challenged me in very similar way to how June 2014 did, so I'd anticipate similar grade boundaries (probably 1/2 marks lower).

i used the other formulae tho ie. y=2^(x+1)-3

For the values of k where there are no solutions I got the inequalities the wrong way round but with the right values would I still get 1 mark out of 2.

I probably misunderstood the way he phrased his response, we're both correct.

The question was asking why the inverse of the function does not exist.

you can say either

the function g(x) is many to one
or
the inverse g-1(x) would be one to many thus not a function.
