Someone from my school went to an open day and apparently a tutor said you need 8A* minimum at GCSE to get an offer for Economics at Warwick.

1 person got rejected from my school with 4a* predictions, 2 people with 3a* predictions (me), and 1 person with a*a*aa predictions.

    None had 8a* at GCSE.

    Imperial don't do economics..

Yeah, if I choose to go for economics then I'll probably apply to Bath instead of Imperial.
Considering Mathematics as well since it's a more versatile degree

Ngl I would agree that gcses seem to have had a big weighting looking at people with offers so you could well be right, although at the open day I went to they never mentioned that

I don't know whether they're doing them in some sort of order of gcses, because I got an offer in November and I have 9, but that really isn't many more than 7 so who knows, I had heard before it was funny about gcses though :/

Question: Do you think people actually 'aim' for Warwick or, to put it bluntly - 'end up' there due to LSE/Oxbridge rejections? (Assuming that most Warwick applicant probably applied to LSE or Oxbridge)
I see where you're coming from, and I can see that happening to me!
But what you've got to remember is that it's a fantastic university and apparently incredibly hard to get into. So surely they won't be giving offers out 'willy nilly'?
    What are your thoughts?

New question: How do you guys cope with rejections? I'm going to apply next year and will undoubtedly get a few rejections. Quite concerned! :/
