Scooby, look at me, you are a blow fish.

    What?

A blow fish, think about it. Small in stature, not swift, not cunning, easy prey for predators, but the blow fish has a secret weapon, doesn't he? Doesn't he? What does the blow fish do, Scooby? What does the blow fish do?

    I don't even know what...

The blow fish juices up, okay? The blow fish juices himself up four, five times larger than normal but why? Why does he do that? Because it makes him intimidating, that's why. Intimidating so that the other scarier fish are scared off and that's you. You are a blow fish. Don't you see? It's just all, all an illusion. It's nothing but juice. Now, who messes with the blow fish, Scooby?

    Nobody.

    You're damn right.

    I'm a blow fish.

You are a blow fish. Say it again.

    A blow fish!

Say it like you mean it!

I'M A BLOW FISH! BLOW FISH! YEEEAAAH! BLOW FISHIN' THIS UP!

Oh no, well it could be, but not in this instance. Hammer as in the hammer strength machines. 35kg of plates each side... Two 35kg dumbbells would probably snap my **** up!

Back to that steroid debate, since I haven't been on here. You are kidding me if athletes like Usain Bolt have never taken 'performance enhancing drugs.' That sounds like utter bs to me. All Olympians and elite athletes take PEDs. "It makes you recover faster... It makes you train longer...it makes you lose water weight faster" And so on. Half these drugs are so cutting edge there's no time to research them extensively before banning them. Call me cynical. We're talking about humans at the absolute limit of our abilities, yet decade upon decade we continue to improve dramatically. A few ice baths, bands and massaging doesn't explain it.

Agreed. I reckon pretty much everybody at the highest level where strength/endurance is concerned is or has taken something, at least at some point. Perhaps not while competing, but those 6 months where they trained 3 times a day 6 days a week for 2 hours a session, they took something to enhance their performance. I see nothing wrong with it, you still have to put the work in. It's like pro body building, when everybody takes advanced supplementation, the best still win, they're just bigger and leaner. It's the same in other sports, the best are still the best, they're just bigger, faster and stronger.

Legs - An average workout is infinitely better than no workout.

    Barbell squat -
    140kg X 7(PB), 5

    Leg extension -
    80kg X 12, 10, 8
    60kg/40kg drop-set X 12/6, 10/5, 8/4

    Hamstring curl -
    40kg X 8, 7, 6
    30kg/20kg drop-set X 10/6

So so workout. I was up at 4am for work and I'm tired as ****. Zero mental focus or energy, it was very much a case of going through the motions. That being said, I hit a squat PB so it wasn't all that bad. I really wish I had pushed for that 8th rep on the first set of squats. The 7th was a grind, but I reckon I could have squeezed the 8th rep out if I went full Braveheart war cry mode and released my inner Kraken.

I'm going to try and squat 152.5kg for 5 reps this week. I was planning to go up to 150kg next time I squat, as I reckon I'll get 5 at that 'easily', all things considered... But I may just have to up it for bragging rights over you.
