If anyone's wondering, I got my Liverpool offer for Law two weeks ago. It took about 3.5 weeks to receive it.

Yeah one of my friend's offer took two weeks to come through. They don't half think about it do they?

Haha, nah, Liverpool takes a bit of time.

Not too sure whether I want to go. I've not been to Liverpool, and if I attended the applicant day, I'd have leave London at like half five, which is insane.

I haven't been to any open day either but I've only heard positive things about it mate. I've been to the city itself several times and I've really only met lovely genuine people. The University is Russell group which kind of speaks for itself I guess. Liverpool gets a negative view attached to it because people think it's full of crime and it's bull**** to be honest... If you go to any city there is going to be more crime than in the countryside. But yeah, only heard good things about the place.

Aww thankyou for that, really reassured me...I Know I'm definitely going if I get the ABB requirement for LLB with criminology but I've heard the city is rough and full of crime but then again it's compared to Manchester which I live in an I think Manchester is fine, yes there is odd shooting or theft but nothing major.....too much moral panic if you ask me

Exactly, this is a classic example of a moral panic. A level sociology has proved to be practical!

I'm originally from the North and yes, Liverpool is known from where I'm from for being very crime ridden, run down and extremely racist. As a mixed race person, I don't really wish to be in an all-white community again.

I wish I could actually visit Liverpool, but getting there is a mission in itself.

Also, from what I've seen, the accommodation is absolutely horrendous, and I need to consider all factors since I'll be living there for three years.

Liverpool is known nationally as being a crime ridden place, until you actually get to the city when you actually realise what a misconception it is.

And what about the culture divide?

    I'm 90% sure it's majority white.

Just wondering if anyone could answer a few questions for me.

I have an offer for Law LLB (It'll probably end up as my insurance choice depending on certain factors), I was just wondering about a few things because I wasn't able to go to the open days.

    1) What's the city like to live in? I.e is it safe, is the night life good etc
    2) What's the accommodation like?
3)Is it a Campus based university?

I'm from the North and am mixed-raced. I moved to London recently.

Yes, the North can be pretty damned racist, but once I integrated, the remainder of my 17 years living there was fine, I didn't experience much, but you will certainly be the odd-one-out at times!

To be honest I don't drink or smoke or drink alcohol or go clubbing so I wouldn't be in such a position where I'd be forced to socialise or mix and I'm sure the uni itself is quiet multi cultural
