Look at private halls for accommodation, on campus ones are so much more expensive and smaller! We were in private halls first year and loved it (and because they're smaller had a better freshers experience!!)
Can I ask which private halls you were in last year? All I know is Glasshouse(?). My parents don't want to let me go into private halls as they are not owned by uni obviously and also the distance. I'm looking at Hampden or Gill Street as they are right on campus and really near to my department. Is there a way to go view the private accommodation on the applicant day??

Sorry for the late reply!!! It was because incase I messed up my exams and i needed to fall back on a university...However I decided to come here because it was the one university that when i was at an open day I was asked what I was interested in and the head of our year really really encouraged me in that, and started naming al the things i could potentially do...rather than what they could offer me? make sense? x
Ah I see, thanks for sharing that with me! And no worries about the late response aha ^_^ I feel pretty certain that NTU will be my firm, but I don't to finalise anything just yet incase I suddenly change my mind aha.

I know I'm a little late but I'm about to apply to Fashion Communication & Promotion here I must say NTU is one of my top choices atm. I really like the course description and the place looks nice. Unfortunately being a non-UK student (and currently working) I don't really have a chance to attend open-days... if anyone going would be kind enough to jot down here their impressions it would be most helpful

I've received a offer from NTU and I have never been to the university either, however one of my close friends visited a few months ago and fell in love with it and said that it looks like a great place to study

Hi everyone! I just got an unconditional offer for Psychology, I can't wait!
Is anyone going to be a mature student? I'll be 20 when I start! Little nervous in case you 18/19 year olds think I'm an elderly person

I'm doing psychology at the moment and no way will you be put in an 'old person' category. Lots of the people in first year are actually 19/20 and some of my friends are 21. My closest is 23 and in second year, age doesn't matter at uni when you're all in the same environment....you will have no problems!xx

You'll be surprised at how lovely everyone is here, theres a real sense of community...especially if you dive straight in and socialise/get involved in sports etc...
I do psych too, so if you need anything, let me know x

Hi everyone

I've just firmed a conditional offer for Zoo biology. Im excited but at the same time quite nervous as I'll be a mature student (24). I'll be commuting the first year, and will probably move to the city second year. I'm a bit worried about the social side of things due to this, but i'm sure i won't be the only one commuting. Plus the course and uni look amazing!

Goodluck for your course ! seems intresting lool , dont be nervous as there probably will be alot of mature students that will study at the same time ! you should try the opposite , stay in halls or private accommodation first year then 2nd year commute ! this will give the true freshers experience from what ive heard lol

Thanks Unfortunately I can't stay for the first year for various reasons, it just wouldn't be possible. But I'm hoping to move down the following year, so hopefully it shouldn't impact too much. I'm looking forward to it regardless of where I am lol
