Hey guys in the 5 marker at the end where it asks you to find the range of values for K this is what I did:
    b^2-4ac >0
    (10)^2-4 (3) (13-k) > 0
    100- 12(13-k) > 0
    100- 156 + k > 0
    -56 + k > 0
    k > 56

    I know it should be:
    b^2-4ac >0
    (10)^2-4 (3) (13-k) > 0
    100- 12(13-k) > 0
    100- 156 + 12k > 0
    -56 + 12k > 0
    12k > 56
    k > 56/12

Don't know why I made that mistake, but considering it's out of 5 what do you think it'll get...
    At least a 3/4

I basically did the same, I did
    -56 + 12k > 0
    12k >56
    k >5
im so annoyed with my self, for assuming 56/12 is 5. dumbest mistake to make
i reckon it will be 3/4 out of 5 for both of us,

Anyone know how you would go about getting predicted an A* for a level maths? Like what would you have to have gotten on this paper if you were to get the same mark on the other two
Should aim for 90+ ums average over your AS modules, but if you're cool with them you can convince them to bump you up...

Omg I got k>14/3 as well but then wrote -14/3k<k<14/3 because it said it had two distinct roots

    Omg I got k>3/14 isn't that right

The only throng the r>0 meant was that the root is not complex... The other side should have +/- as e.g -2 x -2 is 4 so the square root of a positive could be a negative ... But again probably won't loose marks either way as usually in brackets on mark scheme

I think that was to complete the square and hence show that the curve lies above the x-axis.

My teacher had the question paper and went through all the answers but I was too eager to get home and start revising stats so I didn't bother writing the answers down or anything lol
