ohhh ok well that makes more sense. Did you like St Andrews? Isnt it in the middle of nowhere? but good luck with it all anyway
I've not visited there yet (I am planning to go on one of the visiting days). But I'd be - without meaning to sound arrogant - more confident of getting in there next year if I had four As (and an AEA). Plus, I also know I could be a bit more adventerous and apply to nowhere bad (although I haven't really this year but lol). I think a year out would be beneficial too.

Edit: But seriously, some of these admissions tutors must have **** for brains. I can't see what else they'd want for proof that you're good at your subject. I mean, at least Oxford used the HAT. Stupid King's. Arrogance, yes.

Nottingham was my first choice and they rejected me altough I'm predicted AAA, and my personal statement wsa pretty good aswell. I asked them for feedback and all they said is that they can't tell me. (I'm still very gutted by being rejected there)

hmm....maybe they wanted more sciences? Did you have good science GCSE's? Most of the people i know who want to do it at uni are also doing maths and either biology or chemistry or both.

I would say her subjects are fine. My girlfriend has got four conditionals from Edinburgh, Newcastle, Aberdeen and Glasgow for Psychology with exactly the same subjects. She only got ABC in those at AS level. Grades and subject choices are not the only important thing. Perhaps it could be put down to rach_998 applying for BSc courses rather than the BA ones...

I got BB science and B maths for GCSE. Some courses do ask for science based subjects but I looked for courses which didn't state any specific ones.
I think it was my history grade, got a C overall, (still predicted A) but I got 100% in my philosophy and high B in psych so didn't think it would be too much of a deal. I've got some decent offers from the other unis so not too fussed, just wish they could have given me feedback.

I'd die for an offer from Hull :eek3:

Congratulations!
But... why? I dunno really what to think about choosing between Hull and Aber.

The thing is I'm not coming to open days, so I only have TSR as a source of non-advertisement-information.

And the ranking. Hull is sth about 40th place and 16th in psychology and Aber is 26th and 26th.

I really like these old walls.

For not to off so much... I got an offer today. My 4th one.

Uni of Glasgow.
3 x 65% from Polish Matura + IELTS 6.5

And it is not so good, cause IELTS is not cheap... heh

Thats the point; Bsc Psychology is a science, compared to the BA which is a social science. The Bsc would require a much more science-based background....
