Anyone else having problem setting up the instalment? It's only giving me the option to pay it in full
Ahhh having the same problem... It's saying I don't have a student support number from the student loans company? Hopefully it'll be sorted when registration properly opens on the 31st.

I've just done the registration process, but the system says I'm not currently allowed to change or add any modules. Was there a fair choice when you looked for electives at freshers?
I decided to do electives in my department and they only ran three electives in the first year, but all of them had space when I enrolled.

I logged onto the leeds website thing but since I was on a timer at the time I came off after I got my username and password, when I logged on again I went right onto the Leeds vle/website thing. Have I missed some sort of registration because of this?

The registration is found in the 'Student Services & Admin' tab on the Portal. You have to log into student services via the button near the top-left and you should be able to find your way from there.

When can we start registering for electives out of interest? I quite want to do beginners Italian or French, advanced German or some beginners Russian. Got to think about it first but I imagine they fill really quickly.
I'm gonna try Upper Intermediate French Really excited

I did up to AS Level German, and I'd really like to do more. But I also kind of want to start learning French, Italian or Russian. Tried Russian before and it was really interesting.

I did up to AS French too (6 years in total - got a C at AS cuz I couldn't be arsed to do vocab but have a better work ethic now) and I'd really like to get back into it I did loads of languages at my secondary school (French for 6 years, Spanish for 3 years, did German for a while and tasters in Russian, Japanese and Cornish) and they're so fascinating Definitely worth a go (esp in first year where the mark doesn't matter so much!)

Yes, I didn't do too well in AS German but my work ethic is also better. Only ever done German though as that's all our school ever offered us. I would have preferred to do French.

My school saw itself as a language specialist school, so we all got started in year 7 with a language (either French, Spanish or German depending on what tutor group you were in... nobody got to pick). If you were in the top set for your lang at the end of year 8 they made you take another language (again you didn't get to pick), and then forced to take both the langs to GCSE. I took German up as an option in year 10 but was unfortunately forced to drop it due to health issues, but I can't say I was forced to learn langs, I loved them! We also had international studies classes between yr7-9 and that was about learning diff langs and cultures. Was interesting!

I can't deny I enjoyed German, I would just have preferred French. Oh well, I got to go to Germany three times thanks to German. Loved it.
