I'm pretty sure it was 1:200
30 people founded the Amish population, one of which had this genetic disorder. Currently one in 200 Amish people have the disorder however it is very rare for the rest of Americans.
This is DEFINATELY what the information stated, I'm sure of it

I put that:
1. longer females will be capable of laying more eggs so produce a bigger number of offspring
2. (a completely random guess) that the offspring will be longer so have a better chance of survival/advantage over its prey.

Because in the question it said snakes are predators that lay eggs so I thought why would they just put that in there if it wasn't relevant.
the mother can protect the egg better i said grr.

diffusion through membrane faster when gas dissolved in water (thats why alveoli are moist)

No you're wrong
Water increases the diffusion pathway

On the chromosome picture question it said draw what the chromosomes would look like after MEIOSIS. That means that you have to shade in the ends of one or two of them to show the "crossing over part".
Also on the snake one it said in the question suggest two factors OTHER than age. So i put same time for experiment to take place and same environmental conditions eg temperature
But by definition crossing over is both random and infrequent, so isn't it more probable that crossing over wouldn't occur in which case you wouldn't have to shade in the ends of one or two?

You would get 1 mark out of the 2-- it was on a mark scheme once

I doubt many of us can remember the questions since half of them asked you the same crap.

What's considered a low grade boundary for this exam, what's the lowest grade boundary there's been so far out of 85, and what do you predict for re grade boundaries for this exam?

Those are the exact two reasons I put! Hopefully they're right

No you're wrong
Water increases the diffusion pathway
efficient gas exchange requires:
large SA
moistness
short diffusion pathway
large concentration gradient

Water increases the diffusion pathway
It reduces the diffusion pathway as it is drawn deeper in the tracheoles

Paper was 75% HSW and 25% actual subject knowledge. Bit unfair on those who studied but a blessing for those who didn't.

VERY easy to lose a lot of marks in this paper I thought. Any predictions on grade boundaries?
I think it'll be 63/85 for an A and 58 for a B...
