    do you think the paper would be harder this year?
    I am expecting a "spot on" paper (60/75 for 80UMS)
    I am expecting a few original question, not the usual stale rubbish
    However, I truly wish for a very hard paper because such paper would suit my own students

    Can anyone give me an example of a trig integration by parts where I have to sub it back in at the end? Don't think I've come across one.

    I do not know
    They did reasonable well in C3 but their C4 reporting back is not promising

    pressure, bad day, who knows ...

    Like last year you can see some little bits at the end tripping people up (and I guess I cannot claim to be exempt from this myself without solutions up ) I reckon Q8b would have been quite distinguishing , and 7 maybe - although it was a show that so I don't see the major issue there. With 8b it's a fairly trivial integration but nevertheless not a familiar one.

    There has been hardly any changes in the proportions of the poll from sample size 150 until now which is well over 300....

    REVISED ESTIMATED BOUNDARIES

    I have just seen the paper... which I think it had several tricky things, although very similar questions were asked recently
    These are my revised boundaries based on polling and me having see the paper

    72-75.........100UMS
    66-67.........90UMS
    60-61.........80UMS
    52-53.........70 UMS

    incidentally
    look at the differential equation of this paper
    look at Q8 of IYGB paper N

    then look at Q10 of the international paper that took place on Friday
    then look at Q8 of IYGB paper V

    I thought the differential Q on todays paper was similar to question 6 on paper V. Which is nice because I did that question aha.

    your question 8 today is essentially my question 8 from C4, IYGB, Paper N
    have a look

    x
    Try not to facepalm lmao
    Could you do cumulative best-worst please?
    Spoiler:
    Show
    2b) Managed to get 24,16; -24,-16.

    Don't know how..

    managed to get x=\dfrac{3}{2}y

    And sub in etc etc
    Probably arithmetic error somewhere..
    (Out of 6)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    6b) Stupid error.

    Integrated \dfrac{1}{2}+\dfrac{cos2x}{2}

    as \dfrac{x}{2}-\dfrac{sin2x}{4}

    hence the wrong answer.
    (Out of 3)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    7b)
    (Found c=-ln(3))

    Here's where the nerves kicked in.

    ln\dfrac{(\dfrac{P-2}{P})}{3}=\dfrac{1}{2}sin2tP=\dfrac{2}{1-3e^{\frac{1}{2}sin2t}}

    Then I wrote 'divide by 3' and wrote the answer (last second panic guess)
    (That question is out of 7.)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    7c) used 4000..(Out of 3)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    8a) I left my answer as \dfrac{18ln3-9}{9ln3}

    Which is the same answer just not simplified. As they question just asked for the 'exact value'(That was out of 4.)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    8b) (rookie mistake incoming)

    \displaystyle\int y\ dx - \dfrac{1}{3}\pi^{2}(2-h)

    And integrated that correctly to get an incorrect answer.

    You're probably laughing lmao.
    Still don't know, and probably never will know what possessed me to forget that you had to square y and multiply the integral by pi.
    (out of 6)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Thanks.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Think I won't be able to get an A* unfortunately, unless the grade boundaries are ridiculously low.
    Angry with myself for making the most stupidest mistakes lol, f**cked up a golden opportunity.
    I don't know what it is, but with the C3 and C4 exams I was really really nervous..
    Leading to the most stupidest mistakes ever.

    Absolutely gutted:cry2:
