If the French people want these terrorist attacks to stop, they need to elect Marine Le Pen as president and elect a FN majority in the National Assembly in 2017.

Has noone owned up yet? Surely ISIS would be quick to own up if it were them (but they'd probably make the attack more devastating if it were them too, explosives on the lorry and all sorts). Either another terrorist group or a someone whose got drunk or is a lone wolf (highly doubt the latter though).

Glad those hostage reports were fake, news outlets really need to just report facts in a situation like this.
According to BBC no reports have come through if anyone has claimed responsibility

    That is true!!

    Religion of peace again guys.
More muslims are dying by the hands of non muslims and ISIS together yet no one seems to care about them....why?

Just idiots firing the "religion of peace" statement even though it is the muslims who suffer more and are constantly being oppressed by non muslims

Idiots like you and that poster are the ones that should leave if you can't accept another individual based on the religion and culture. You are talking about an extremist minority that exists within muslims and non muslims, deal with them not the whole dame group.

Why exactly is this being reported as a "terrorist attack"? Have the motives even been confirmed yet?

For all the people that are say "Religion of peace" ironically how can you blame a religion that millions practice everyday without hurting anyone for something that a small amount of mentally unstable individuals chose to spread terror. Do we even know if they guy was a muslim yet or are we just making assumptions because the fit with what is constantly shown in the media. I just hope those families can find peace as soon as possible in a time of great distress, my thoughts and prayers are with them.
Because the teachings of the religion are violent, and spread hate and intolerance to non believers, apostates and anyone else they believe to be 'sinners'. If this wasn't a religious problem, countries in the Middle East run by religious law would not rank so atrociously when it comes to human rights, and Immams and Islamic leaders around the world would speak out against discrimination against apostates, gay people etc.

And for the record, this attack was carried out by a dual citizen of France and Tunisia, in an area that has a history of Islamic radicalisation. Put the two together and it's pretty clear that the terrorist wasn't an "atheist extremist"...

The murderer was a Muslim who shouted "Allahu Akbar" as he killed.

He thought he was doing the Muslim God's will and will go to heaven as a consequence, to deflower virgins for all eternity.

Hard to believe for any civilised, sane person but those were the motives.

This has always been the case muslims kill each other have have done for 1500 years.

They have also been at war with everyone else for about the same time

Look at the history of Islam and you will see this is the case

    And FYI ISIS are muslims

The driver was of Tunisian descent. Tunisia's population is 98% Muslim. He is also reported to have shouted Allah Akbar

Looks like it's an Islamic terror attack.

It's a rather unfortunate state of affairs when people think that, in order to demonstrate that an incident is one of terrorism, all you have to do is point out that the perpetrator is a Muslim, as though that settles the matter.

On the other hand, where it has been clearly established that violence and threats are being used in an attempt to achieve political aims (e.g. the recent killings of police officers in the US and the stabbing of a politician in the street in the UK), because the perpetrators are not of Muslim origin, we cannot go so far as to describe it as terrorism, even if it fits the definition.

It appears that "terrorism" has now just become a code word meaning "A Muslim did it, and that alone makes it worse than if anyone else did it".

    Yes.

The driver deliberately swerved the vehicle left and right to kill as many people as possible.

Driver is very likely to be a Muslim (of Tunisian descent, Tunisia is 98% Muslim), just like the attackers in the November 2015 Paris attack, the January Paris attack, the Orlando shooting, the Boston bombing, the Brussels terror attack, the London 7/7 bombings and 9/11.

What do you mean? He was a terrorist who tried to kill people, that was probably the most efficient way of going about it.
