I don't think anyone did it as well as him. I felt like he just WAS the Doctor. I saw all of the others at least once apart from Christopher Eccleston who I saw in all of his, and none of them did it for me. It's just my view I guess haha.

    David Tennant is fab.
I feel the same but I just think it's harsh towards the other Doctors to say he's the only one worthy of it.

I think 'worthy' and 'best' are two very different things. The former just seems more dismissive of the other Doctors to me(sorry), whereas the latter is a better way of phrasing that you consider 10 to be the best Doctor.

By worthy I mean that he is the only one who truly represents the whole idea of the doctor properly, plays his role well and just shows what he's all about, the way he should. I don't know how to explain it aaaagh.

He's at the bottom of my list. He was second to last but then Christopher Eccleston disappointed me by not showing much respect towards the show that made him a bigger household name when Doctor Who reached it's 50th year.

Paul McGann, however(originally last), moved up a place because he appeared in the excellent Night of the Doctor and was brilliant in it.
Ignoring the 50th anniversary part, why? I think his character was brilliant and he played it brilliantly. Maybe him being my favourite is bias because I am nostalgic about watching Dr as a kid, but I can't see him as second last. I mean, I thought he was waay better than Matt Smith.

I just found his Doctor too serious and I didn't feel there was enough comedy. Although I enjoyed him more at the time.

The whole idea of the Dr is that his character changes every regeneration, so not sure what you mean. Yes, Tennent is sexy (no homo), but that's not a reason..

But that's not strictly true anyway because William Hartnell did it before David Tennant seeing as he was the very first actor to play the role.

I would disagree with the character. I never got the impression that was MEANT to change.

No homo is really not necessary. No one thinks you're homosexual for merely stating another male is blatantly attractive which he is - full homo.

I can't really explain it. It's all just how it came through to me. I did't really like William Hartnell.

There was a cynical humour to him. hadn't he just come out of the time war? He was a warrior Dr, and that season was about Rose's influence changing him imo.

I know but I just found him a bit too serious in the role. It was both written and played too straight and the comedy moments felt too forced in my opinion.

Well, the character is either meant to change, or every Dr Who apart from the first one is surely getting it wrong, no? I find it hard to believe the character arcs we've seen through the modern series has all just been mistake after mistake, and that Matt Smith, Tennent and Eccleston should all be the same character...

Canon is that each regeneration has it's own foibles, it's quirks and habits that are unique to that life. His underlying personality is still the same, but what they express is different from regeneration to regeneration.

    Less

Shouldn't you get on with that essay you have then?

I just find the episodes set in olden times to be less exciting.

You don't like the emoticons :bawling:

It's not really anything to do with history though..

I can see what you mean, Victorian times weren't that exciting though that may be because it's been visited many times
