Hahaha! So now you know what is actuarial science? It's a FUN course. Uh, at least for me and hopefully your friend.

Yep, I'm sponsored too (by Bank Negara) so I'm bonded for 10 years. Oh well, at least my job is secured. Working in the Bank as an actuary doesn't seem that bad, they pay handsomely as well to their qualified actuaries due to their unique skills.

Move overseas? Yeah, another 10 years time from my graduation.
I don't exactly know what it entails. I heard it's kinda like risk management in a nutshell? And it's a very specialised course, or something.

TEN. Woah. You must be very very dedicated. SMART BOY. Haha!
I'm so glad I got the scholarship, makes everything easier. And I won't need to go job hunting when I come back to Singapore! YAY!

I've flown Qatar before! I think it's great when you're flying from Singapore.... it's almost the half-way point to London, so you get to stretch your legs a bit in the middle. The only problem is that the airport sucks (and stank, if i remember correctly) and the dinner they sold was atrocious at best (they gave me a yellow apple that "melted" in my hands!)
Oh man. At least I'm stopping over for barely 2 hours.
Bad food.. That's not that big an issue. At least it gets me to London.

I wanted to fly emirates, but qatar was slightly cheaper, and it flies from T3!
    Superficial, I know.

Flying on emirates on 11th Sept (speaking of auspicious date) stopover at Dubai before Manchester. My first time taking emirates! Hope I'm gonna enjoy it.

Anyone knows how's the Dubai Airport??
I heard it's really nice, good for shopping ^^ I did consider flying emirates and stopping over at Dubai for a few hours to shop.

I've flown emirates to australia. LOVED IT. The seats were leathery, so much better compared to SQ's cloth-typed seats. And the food was good!

Qatar was actually the cheapest I found, at the time I booked for the days I'm traveling. Unfortunately.. I think things got a little cheaper ):
    Does your school provide hostel?

I almost booked qatar too due to its cheap rates, but decided on Emirates coz of its 30kilo baggage allowance. Where are you going to study at?

Yeah well, the 23kg does kinda suck. But my dad's flying with me, so I think I'm looking at 35kg, which should be enough for me. I'm aiming to bring as little as I can.
I'll be at UCL school of pharmacy. How about you? (:

Ah I see! Oh well it's always about luck! Tickets can get cheaper just after you booked your ticket. That's the uncertainty involved sigh. Yep, my school provides hostel but it's super expensive!!! 180pw. I'm thinking of moving out and going for private housing instead.

Sort of! Actuarial Science is about probability and statistics being applied in various areas such as insurance, risk management, heathcare, pension, finance and investment. It's a very specialised course cause you need to pass a series of professional papers, so yeah it's tough!

Err, 10 years is not something that I can choose! THEY are the one setting the 10 years bond. :O And that's freaking long hahaha! Oh well. Job hunting can be more troublesome and difficult. So yeay! xD

Wait, what are you going to study in UCL?

Ahh yes, I heard about the prob and stats thing. I love statistics, when I was doing Math in IB, but I don't think I could spend a whole course so focused on it. All the best! haha! (:

10 years feels a little too long, cause it's not that expensive to send a scholar to UK for university. Are you getting a lot for monthly allowance?

I'm doing pharmacy. So I'm under the MOH Holdings scholarship.

Oh i see! Working in MOH? Anyways, I am pretty sure you will do well. Especially working in public sector in Singapore, they treasure overseas scholars most. (more than local scholars)
