I was once told by some clueless woman that my Autism is actually anxiety
Autism may be a source of anxiety, and the pathophysiology of both is arguably linked, but that was a pretty foolish thing of her to say, aye

Everyone else either hasn't noticed it, has noticed something isn't quite right, or has actually worked out I'm Autistic
Have you had any specialist help with/for it?

I score highly but have more pressing MH issues so I think that messes with my score.

Oh, well they're not the same thing, but they can produce similar symptoms on the surface.

The important thing is to take the time to get to the root of why a person has issues with communication. It could be anxiety, inexperience, or Autism
Indeed so. Experience of course relates to opportunity for the development of new neuronal pathways and idiosyncratic recruitment of different regions of the brain (neuroplasticity), which can help an individual adapt to neurodevelopmental challenges like Autism

Despite having quite severe relationship and communication issues, no. There is none in my area for adults. Apparently, as an adult, you should have learnt to have adapted by now.

35 "Based upon your responses to this autism screening measure, it appears that you are likely suffering from an autism spectrum disorder, or Asperger's disorder"
I scored higher and don't have an ASD, so I wouldn't read too much into it necessarily

In all honesty I find the results shocking... For a place like TSR I'm surprised very few are autistic
Remember, we're only talking about those posting in Chat, who deign to post here, and to include their scores, and not to get creative with the truth! (narrows it down a bit)

I got 31. I have scored between around 27 and 35 on this test in the past I think
Quite some variability! All below my own score, however, you'll be pleased to hear!

in childhood I was thought to be probably on the spectrum by professionals but never diagnosed

Following on from How Narcissistic are YOU?, do you sometimes find yourself wondering: 'Am I a little autistic'? :teeth:

Autistic: characterised by difficulty in communicating and forming relationships with other people and in using language and abstract concepts

If you're unsure, perhaps try this short Autism / Asperger's Quiz. Having done so, please select the appropriate poll option as per your score:

    • NOT autistic: 0-29

    • POSSIBLY autistic: 30-33

    • LIKELY autistic: 34+

Feel free to post your score in the thread of course, and comment on how this differs from your expectations, if at all (mine didn’t)!
Hmm i scored 25.. Thought it would be higher but thats good i guess, yay

I wonder which way the visualisation questions push you - is it positive or negative here to be good at visualisation?
