    That's a shame <img src="images/smilies/frown.png" border="0" alt="" title="" smilieid="11" class="inlineimg" /> How are your other choices going?
May I ask what your academics/experience is like.
I'm still trying to decide whether to apply there or not while I'm still waiting for my second reference!!
I have an interview at both Newman College and University of Birmingham.

My academics are okay, looking to get a 2.1 in a vocational subject. Experience includes 5 months in a secondary school and 2 months at primary.

    I would defo apply

I've got an interview at Bath Spa on Wednesday too - and I am still waiting to hear from SCITT. UWE declined my application <img src="images/smilies/frown.png" border="0" alt="" title="" smilieid="11" class="inlineimg" />
See you tomorrow. I've still not heard from Somerset SCITT. Have you? All the best.

Got an e-mail from kings, only to find out it was a thank you for sending in my documents and not the offer/rejection I was anticipating... Skills tests tomorrow and then Christmas/dissertation writing can begin.

Oh I see-hope you get your interview! I've applied for lower primary, seriously have been checking my track every hour in work today hoping they would have made their decision but they haven't. let me know if you get an interview I can give you a heads up on how the day went for me
I have applied for lower primary too! I am feeling more nervous everyday that goes past? Starting to really worry I've not heard anything! Did you send your application off straight away. I didn't send mine til 3 December I think it was! 😀

Interview done! I think it went ok, but my subject knowledge really let me down. They said if I get an offer it will be a condition that I sit gcse r.e by September. A bit worried about this. Hopefully it's plausible to do a gcse in a month! I'll worry about that if we get an offer though.

Don't panic, you can do it! Otherwise they wouldn't suggest it. From what I remember (although it could have changed a lot) it was mainly applying writing skills (i.e. balanced arguments) to things, rather than having lots and lots of knowledge. IIRC you did a SKE? Then I would imagine you have gained a lot of the knowledge from that. And if not then you'd be able to pick it up from a bit of reading. Plus think what a breeze a GCSE in a subject you love will feel like at the end of a degree!

    Hi all

I have an interview on Friday for Primary and I have to give a presentation on an education issue. I think it's important to show that what I'm talking about is based on evidence and not opinion but is it strange to reference people in a presentation where I can't use visual aids?

It would be great to hear what other people have done and seen others do....

    Thanks
It's fine to reference people but (AFAIK) better to do it casually. What I mean is, don't say it like you would write a reference but you might say 'Marks suggested that...' or in answer to a question 'It's interested, I read in x by y that this happened, but z appeared to contradict this'. Basically, mention it if it comes up but don't FORCE it in. Otherwise it will seem like you've just thrown the references in! Only put them where it makes sense and is relevant.

Also remember it's ok to share others' opinions to show you have considered them, as long as you aren't going in there shouting your own opinion from the rooftops!

Hi . I heard last night that I hadn't got a place. Feel surprisingly ok about it and it means that I haven't got a place anywhere for 2014. Thy recommended applying to Plymouth uni for their pgce course ( sd is in conjunction with them) as the interview panellist from there was impressed and said I would get a place. It's too far away from me though as I have a large family. So I don't think I will go through apply 2 and will apply next year. Hope you have better news!!
Bear in mind that SD schools will probably require you to attend at least some sessions at the uni they work with. Some may require almost the whole of the PGCE. So consider this when making your decision about apply 2.

I'm pretty sure you're the first person to mention it here. I have been watching out as I did my PGCE there last year!

Aw thank you that's comforting to know! It's for geography 7-14years. It's my first interview so I have no idea what to expect! Are the tests harder than the skills tests in your opinion?

Had first interview yesterday at University of Nottingham for Secondary History. Think it went okay...just difficult when interviewers are stone cold faced throughout. Not sure if that's good or bad haha.

Anyone else feel low/down a few hours after their interview? I felt emotionally, mentally drained and didn't know what to do!
Hi, I had my interview for History today. I agree, the interviewers did not give much away. Let me know when you hear from them!

Yeah I did an SKE, so hopefully it won't be too bad! We had to answer a gcse question today and it was dire! Gladly the other people there didn't have religious degrees either so I don't think I stood out in that sense.

My next interview wants us to do one practice skills test for numeracy and literacy and take it with us - can you print your practice test results off, if you know? I'm not around a computer so can't check!
