Sometimes, yeah When I'm anxious it's something else for me to focus on. Doesn't help much for SH urges which it was originally given to me for but different stuff works for different people

    Posted from TSR Mobile
Yeah i find it helps with anxiety and giving you something to focus/concentrate on.
With urges i find i quite violently fiddle with it
Need to find it actually :sigh:

I finally managed to articulate what I'm going through exactly with my mum i.e. about my panic attacks and anxiety and she's finally taking me to the doctor to see what I need.

I guess she needed to hear it more than once.
VERY frustrating that she's taken this long, but I guess it's one of those "better late than never" scenarios :hugs:

Hi, got restlessness again and have had it now for about a week and a half. Its doing my head in ><!!! been up since 2am and the voices don't help . Not to mention, just walked my dog and had an argument because someone else's dog went for mine, and she had the guts to say that my dog was at fault because its an aggressive breed (Akita Inu). I am so fed up of ignorant dog owners. So now I'm angry anxious lol a very weird combination .

Yeah, I'm similar. I'll be honest, I still haven't found anything that always works with urges, I think ice is the best thing so far.

Tidying up can wait until you are not in pain! So don't worry about it because you are your top priority.

Like anything down to five years younger or older and more. I feel like there isn't anything for people ages 20-24, at least not that i can find outside of uni (i can't really be in a society when i've left and i never liked uni societies anyway). I think church is used by a lot of people as a way of socialising and forcing themselves to meet other people, clever really although i was never religious i can see the appeal of church in that way.

I'll find something, it's more that i don't want a breakdown between now and then

Ah. I still have two boxes of citalopram sitting in my room. It was fine for me i guess but never worked for me theraputically so i stopped it. I didn't like how i couldn't drink on it haha.

Doing alright. Just a bit stressed and lonely i guess!
Yeah I suppose most people are either at Uni or kinda just getting their foot into jobs and stuff :dontknow: I mean you could still go to church/I can easily imagine going along to something/talking to people. Though that said I don't think I could imagine my actual self actually doing that, but still :hide:

I'm sure there must be a fair few cycling groups wherever you are? Though possibly more road than mountain - though I think you enjoy both? :beard: and no

Yeah, remember you saying - luckily I don't drink I think you said about the libido thing too/read through the instructions/leaflet last night and saw that/remembered you saying, I think? Anyway...

Glad you're okay - stressed and lonely not great though :console: Anything particular causing? Or just being near the end of Uni and stuff?

    (Original post by Todot)
Wow I'm so sorry i didn't reply to this before! I've been up and down, had a bit of a rough spot when I was visiting leamington and the week after but things seem to be going better now *fingers crossed* so I'm trying to actually do some maths again to get back into it. My sleep pattern is pretty shocking though and concentration is not good, so I was looking at DSA stuff for next year maybe :dontknow:

I see you've been prescribed citalopram and just wanted to say that although some people get horrific side effects on their antidepressants for the first couple of weeks you might be lucky like I was and get almost nothing - pretty much just dry lips and possibly some sleep stuff. I would definitely start them a few weeks before exams though to be on the safe side.

I hope essay stuff went okay and you're doing alright? :hugs:
That's okay! Was meaning to message you over the last week/check you were okay! Glad things have been better since then, sorry was rough though :console: Well done on maths! Wish I could say the same Yeah concentration is difficult  Think that'd be good to do, though yeah :dontknow: Thinking about doing the same/applying for next year.

Thanks :hugs: Managed to start this morning, hoping that any side effects will wear off my exams, yeah - 3 weeks until they start, so should be okay I guess.

Not really started yet still Doing okay/better than last term thanks being at home, just up and down a lot really! Hope you carry on feeling better! - Sounds good :yep:

    (Original post by SassQueen13)
Aww, are you at uni? Maybe going back to that place with someone will help you feel less low and sad and at the same time you'll feel less homesick as you would have visited it

I've considered going back to a diary too :yep: Or a journal where I can freely just pen my thoughts. Writing is really cathartic. It's horrible thinking back to people you used to be close with but remember you have yet to meet so many more! Also, there's nothing wrong with trying to get back into contact with people you miss An old friend messaged me the other day and although it wasn't a massive conversation (was just about anime ) I felt happy that they still remembered me :awesome:

I need to start taking my medication too and haven't yet as I've been scared and chickened out I think we just gotta convince ourselves that it's for the better, the positives outweigh the negatives

Also, haven't spoken to you in a while so hi Ducky :hugs:
Back at home now, but moved house last year while I was at Uni, so kinda away from "actual" home for me, sort of I mean am used to being here now, but just miss past place a lot/the year before Uni had started to really really enjoy living there, sort of. Don't know if that makes sense or not Just started walking really then/liked the area. anyway..
Yeah, will hopefully visit round there next week, though got to work out when school friends will be about/if I can stay with someone. Confusing

Yeah, have more of a journal thing definitely good for writing down thoughts/anything - definitely! I think you use the dear you thread a fair bit too, sometimes? I used to a lot, but haven't so much the last year or more, just because of the journal-thing! Sorry, I'm rambling so much even here
That's true, thanks :hugs: Just sometimes seems unlikely/scary to make new friends as close as the ones you've grown further apart from? Don't know. Is sad Yeah - texted friend last night who I hadn't spoken to in a while (though not that long ago either) which was nice Haha That's good though! Glad they got back in touch Yeah, is nice when you get the odd message from someone a while back

Started this morning! Is very scary, yeah you can do it though! Yeah exactly - kinda decided just to take it in the end/not think about it (though a lot thanks to reassurement of peeps on here I think ) Hope yours are good when/if you do start them

No! Hi Sassqueen (sassy? :teehee: ) :hugs: Hope you're doing okay (and sorry for the very rambl-y reply! )

    (Original post by Odd socks)
no need to apologise! im terrible for forgetting to post. that or people are having conversations and I don't want to butt in, and then I forget what I was leaning to say

feeling okay mentally, it's my physical body that's annoying me at the moment, eczema has flared up and my leg muscles are all achey too :sadnod:

glad to hear about the citalopram, that's what I'm on and it's really helped :yep:
Yeah know what you mean Happens in group therapy too a lot/waiting for the right time to say something and then the topics already moved on

:woo: for mentally Sorry about eczema That mustn't be fun, leg sounds weird too I've had a bad knee the last couple weeks, think I've just not been moving enough/sat at desk too much... Are you still at Uni? Or back for easter soon? Has GP said anything to do for eczema? Hope it gets better soon :hugs:

Really glad it's helped you and is encouraging, too! I've started on 10mg, but the packet says that 10mg is for panic attacks, and 20mg for depression, but then don't know if that's normal or not, or just because normally I've only had mild-y depression, with moderate episodes or something :dontknow: But anyway, yes - thank you :hugs: Started this morning, so now to find out what happens!

    :dong:

I relly need sleepytime, my body aches all over. Tomorrow and sunday I have to write the essay that I never did last week, and i'm in work again tomorrow night. 4th night in a row, I think I must juts fallasleep i've even been washing my hair every 3rd day lately which is shocking for me, going to look so grim tomorrow as it's third day :/

Also really lonely, heard nothing from shop fwend I thought we were gonna be bffl :sigh: I don't LIKE people. :sigh: I am too easily hurt by them and i'm too timid, there was a thread the other day about being a 'people pleaser' and it has really made me think how meek I am with people and how I rarely say no and am always trying to make them happy with me *is sad*
:hugs: Sorry you haven't heard back from the friend, that's a shame Hope sleep works itself out soon/you can get enough - do give yourself enough time to sleep/don't ignore it because of work and stuff, if you can :s:
Can empathise with being a "people pleaser" I think, am not all the time, but often find myself not being assertive enough if that's similar. Meant to be reading some module pages about assertiveness, but keep forgetting to...!

Feeling bit calmer. Voices are silent but they're there. I can feel them :cry2:

Good luck with the citalopram. That for me was by far the seemingly-most-effective antidepressant. I was so happy once it kicked in. Everything was green fields and bunny rabbits and rainbows :moon:

To be honest, I'm feeling the same way. Mine start in May and its just like... The beginning of the end. I'm ready to leave the place that has caused me so many issues... But at the same time I'm not sure if i can?

Heading back to Cambridge after seeing my friend and spending all my money in london. Just generally feel quite content, it's nice. Not sure how I'll feel later when I'm back in my room on my own but I think aiming to feel like this more would be good since I tend to do sad, anxious or excited and not calm and happy.
But seriously roller skates are expensive I may weep on behalf of my bank account later.
