I had a feeling you'd be getting involved.
Any excuse to make delicious treats and lust over cake.

You joining in with all the fun TC?

I might do. If I have time and if I can actually do something.
Let me guess, you're going to make cupcakes?

I think you should just go for it. When I baked my first cake it looked dire but tasted lovely.... that's what counts imo and it's good fun.
How did you guess? cupcakes definitely but I also want to make hot cross buns. Traditional and I don't like lemon peel and the store bought ones have tonnes in!

I may opt for a lemon drizzle cake and shove some mini eggs on there to look seasonal. Most of the family are diabetic now so I guess it's up to me to enjoy it all.

Lol yeah there might be a lot of trial and error. Since the deadline is April 10th that gives me a bit of time.
Hot Cross buns are great, very tasty.

Are your family diabetic now because of the insane amount of cakes you bake?
If you want to be seasonal a Simnel cake might work.

I only really bake weekends due to work but I do tend to offload it onto the family/friends when I do. Baked red velvet cupcakes last weekend-but It was a bday contribution so I'm not too manic
    :mmm:

Hmmm, I hope not but it's mean when my Mum wants a slice of xmas fruit cake and I'm slapping her hand away...

I was thinking of a Simnel cupcake version actually now you mention it. I wasn't really aware of Simnel cakes before but I like this recipe as an adaptation:

I doubt I'd have room for the traditional 11 marzipan balls on top of each one but I could make a batch of 12 and just eat one for good luck before presenting them with a marzipan ball each?
