Akon - belly dancer.

lol just joking.... i dont think there is a "best song in the world" but rather numerous songs that are very good.
i.e. Redemption song - bob marley, and some of those beatles songs (blowin in the wind, satisfaction,) and like a rolling stone.

I love your choice!

Either The Fat Lady Of Limbourg or Dead Finks Don't Talk - Brian Eno (Make Me Smile made me think of the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack)

or

Once In A Lifetime - Talking Heads

Although Norfolkadam's choice made me think of The Lord's Prayer by Siouxsie & The Banshees, which cannot be underestimated.

Baba o' Riley - The Who

Stairway to Heaven- Led Zepelin
it could be pink flody, but you need the whole album for that to be epic

Great choice! In my opinion, Teardrops (by Massive Attack and Liz Fraser) is on par with The Fugees' Ready or Not as the best song of all time.

I urge anyone who said Exogenesis by Muse to go and listen to a real symphony

...or something by Muse pre-BHAR

My favourite piece of music is Elgar's Cello Concerto, played by Du Pre (seriously, by anyone else- don't bother!). The sound isn't great, but:

That's the best in the world to me

Either,
Hotel California - The Eagles
or
November Rain - Guns n Roses

Xfm did a countdown of the 'Best Songs Ever' a few weeks ago. 'Live Forever' by Oasis was first...

But Mr Brightside was second! Really?!
