My last 5 rep set was 127kg but that was 2 Wednesdays ago (I couldn't train Wednesday just gone).

I'm going to change my last set to 3 reps from now on with the "warm up" sets still being 5. So 3x5 and 1x3. Was finding my form would start to go on the heavy set for 5 reps.

So this Wednesday I'll be going for 130x3. Looking forward to it since it'll be two weeks without deadlifting :p:

Good luck on Wednesday.

127? Does your gym have weird plates or is that counting the spring collars or something?

Cheers man... also gonna be using a belt/chalk for my last set

I guess I'll just keep going till my dead/squat stall then try a split for a while then repeat this one...

Still need to get over my fear of failing on squat

Went home for the weekend so used LA Fitness instead of my uni gym

got: squat 92.5x3
bench: 77.5x3
row: 72.5x3

beltless cos LA Fitness doesn't supply belts

Can anyone recommend me a good belt to buy? I don't know that much about them and have only just started using them so I don't know what to look for...

also, LA doesn't allow the use of chalk so should I get some straps? or use something else for rows/deads?

(I'm also working on grip strength with the 'Captains of Crush' grippers)

I'd come off the madcow/Starr's 5x5 and switch to a novice programme if I were you. Something like Starting Strength (perhaps with the squatting format switched around a bit) with 3 sets across might suit you better at your current numbers. You could do with more aggressive progression (particularly on deadlifts).

Cheers man, will look into it... Will probably see this one through until it stops working though...

(last few weeks, I've been adding 5kg/week on deadlift )

today got:

Squat: 100kgx3
Bench: 80kgx2 (needed help with third rep)
Row: 77.5kgx3

Also, on Wednesday, I got

Deadlift: 120kg
~ 1st attempt: 2 reps
~ 2nd attempt: 4 reps
~ 3rd attempt: 3 reps

Over Christmas, I'm thinking about changing BB Bench over to Flat DB Press for a while to change up the routine... its getting really repetitive
