You have good solid grades, though still even with those great grades, you are applying to high ranking unis, on a fairly competetive course.

Though Southhampton and Kings are very good back ups.

No you didn't. A* at A2 is new for 2010 so you haven't got an A* at A2.
man people on TSR are so quick to jump down your throat!

what do i have to gain by lying!?

I updated my profile maybe about 2 years ago now, got my A2 grades in summer this year, didn't get into Warwick (needed a 2 in step, got a 3) my A in maths i got is equivalent to an A* this year (95%) so it was easier to say A* than type this long winded explanation.

Just applied to UCL on the 29th of september and got an unsuccessful email today!

    Give people a break!

Dude that sucks, but what other subjects did you do, other than maths.

My friend got AAAA in Maths, Futher Maths, Chemistry, Biology. And Im not sure if he even did Step and he's doing maths at UCL. No trying to rub it in, but I dont understand why you werent accepted.

    Here:

    A (A* equiv) maths
    A - further maths
    A - Physics
    A - Computing
    B - General Studies

    3 - STEP I

May need to gap year if you wanna get into somewhere like LSE im afraid. Its so competitive but if after A levels you come out with top grades, reapply and you're chances of getting in are much higher. Maths and econ at LSE is extremelycompetitive I'm sorry to say.... But your 2 As in Maths and GCSEs will definitely put you ahead a little. Down to luck sometimes as well.....anyway, good luck
Edit: Might wanna change "reliably" to "realistically" in your title

I guess it was Computing was the problem, its not a traditonal subject.

and of course general studies is not even valued by top Unis.

Though I am very envious of your further maths and physics A2 grades, which are difficult subjects, that I had taken in AS, personally if I was in your position I would apply to aeronautical engineering.

But really those are still great grades, and you should find an unconditional place.

You should have an A* predicted in maths, for UCL really. and also i'd advise it for LSE seeing as you got two B's at As which isn't outstanding. I'd personally say your chances are not that high and to risk it with one of them, not two.

    Hi,

    GCSEs: 9 A*s 1 A
ASs: AAABB ( with the As in maths, further maths and general studies, the B's in biology and chemistry)- My ASs were **** tbh, so underperformed.

Applying to: LSE (Maths + eco)
    UCL (Maths with eco)
Kings ( Maths with management and finance)
    Warwick ( Maths and Eco)
    Southampton ( Maths with Eco)

Got a great PS and predicted AAAB, are my choices too risky?

    Thank you
    no.

from the limited information i have about you.

i rekon you'll get some offers some rejections.
