Doesn't make me afraid to fly at all. There are thousands of fatal car crashes a day. There's been what, 5 or so fatal plane crashes this year out of tens of thousands of flights? Flying is still the safest method of travel - any idiot is allowed to drive a car, you need hundreds (thousands?) of hours of flying experience to fly a passenger plane, and have regular checks to make sure you are still safe to fly.
Would you rather have your driver crash the car in which you're travelling, or the pilot crashing the plane... you can't imagine the difference in the seriousness between the two types of crashes... A pilot takes longer to train than for a person to learn to drive a car... so obviously more car crashes.... and there are many more cars than planes...and again...think about the difference between the crashes lol. A plane dropping into the ocean from thousands of of metres, or a car crashing into another car..or a wall....??????!!!!111

Eh?
**** attitudes?

You have no idea how hard it is to become a commercial airline pilot.

And secondly, the pilot had 10,000 hours...

It was meant to be a very bad pun.

It wasn't meant to be taken literally.

you're more likely to get hit by a bus/be in a car crash on your way to the airport than you are to die from flying.
But you have somewhat more control in those situations and are more likely to survive them than you are a plane crash

I said fatal car crashes. So I'm pretty sure they are of the same seriousness. Either way you end up dead, except one is thousands more times likely to happen than the other.

Most people would rather die in a car crash than a plane one.... no?

What does it matter if they're gonna end up dead anyway?

That's a silly argument. You'd be a fool to be put off travelling by plane with a 1 in 11 million risk of death, if you're perfectly happy to get in a car, in which there is a 1 in 5,000 risk of death - just because "if you had to die, you'd rather die in a car" (I'd rather die in a plane actually, I'd be on the news).

Some bizarre logic you have there. Planes are far safer, 2,200 times safer in fact.

It matters to me...it's the falling bit that scares me, not actually dying.

it is becuase the earthquakes have icreased the earths pressure. This pressure pushes the plane down. The plane can't handle it and it all falls down.

would you rather drown to death or get shot in head? dying in a plane crash is way more ... painful than in a car crash...

how do you know? have you been in one?

Also, drowning is supposed to be pretty peaceful after the initial struggle

It's like people spouting world ending nonsense because there's been 'SO MANY EARTHQUAKES OMG'.
You're right that all the 2012 stuff is BS, but the earthquakes are likely related because of all that tessellated tectonics shiz.
