as i said in my original post, i said that i do not mean to 'put down' intolerances or to say that they aren't as bad as people make them out to be. i just simply meant that you can't really put them on the same level. it used to really piss me off when they put my brother in danger because they thought he just had an intolerance to something, so i was thinking that lives are at risk when people do.(Original post by tbm)
Sorry, but I disagree with you here. I feel really sorry for your brother for what he has but you cannot belittle intolerances. I have coeliac disease which means I cannot eat any foods containing gluten. This may seem like nothing to you, but this is a long term disease which can lead to many other health problems, and even a small amount of gluten will damage my small intestine.
i didn't mean to offend you in any way. i was just stressing the implications of assuming they are the same.
one of my close family friends was diagnosed with coeliac disease a few years ago, so i understand the ins and outs of it all, and we try to support them as much as we can through home gluten-free baking and the like.

I'm intolerant to lactose and eggs. If i have any, I end up being barely able to move because of pain, this usually goes on for most of a day untill i start to feel really disoriented, dizzy and nauseous, untill I throw up because of it. I usually only start to feel better after I've been sick though, I used to get ill alot before I became stict with myself about what I eat. But I think I have worse reactions than most people to lactose and eggs though.
