No, not really seeing as well, there is no way twilight will stand the test of time, the way shakespere's plays have, which in reality is due to the fact that twilight isn't very good.

    **** no. **** no.

i read it and cringed all the way through. primarily because the characterisations were ****...bella had absolutely no depth, edward had no depth,as for story line nothing happened until the last two chapters....so basically i felt like i was reading a book about nothing :/
If I remember correctly, Bella's main trait is that she's clumsy. Other than that she has virtually no personality and is entirely defined by an obsessive love for a dead boy.
    Exceptional writing.

Twilight - one angsty teenage wierdos' struggle to choose between bestiality and necrophilia.

Sorry, how does that compare to The Bard again?

Well Twilight is a book which was adapted for screen, Shakespeare wrote for the stage. Also Shakespeares plays were originally played by an all male cast, young boys were given the role of female characters like Juliet, Ophelia etc. So maybe it would be more like Shakespeare if they remade Twilight but with the girl character played by that young lad from This is England.

There are loads of love triangles in Shakespeare, look at Midsummer Nights Dream, Twelfth Night

Shakespeare is utterly awful in terms of plot and characterisation, mainly because he was using the by-now tired forms of tragedy and comedy. The only awesome thing about Shakespeare is the wordplay, the delivery...

Are you joking? It's really badly written! I know it's meant for 'teenagers' but I think if I'd have read them when I was 10 I wouldn't have been impressed.

    Hahahaha...... no

I like Twilight, have read all the books and watched the films, and Edward Cullen is hot.
But I can also laugh at it, with the ridiculous fan base around it, it's badly written with laughably grammatical errors at points and even the storyline gets a odd at times.

You can't compare this type of teen literature to Shakespeare, ever

What the **** is this bull****?! Twilight isn't on the same calibre as The Very Hungry Caterpillar (that book is made of win) let alone Shakespeare. Shakespeare's unprecedented impact inspired many authors, musicians and playwrights even GCSE and A Level English students like me acknowledge his credibility as a paramount figure of literature. Twilight however is the biggest load of *******s I've read in my life! The only demographic I can only think of who actually enjoy *shudders* Twilight is for 12 year old girls who only read it because their friends are doing it; these girls are ****ing sheep. Comparing Twilight to Shakespeare is essentially comparing: Ke$ha to Tempa T, Nicki Minaj to Nas and Chardinay to John Legend.

    Shardinay (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5tF9Cqamig)
    John Legend (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FspuTRz1alc)

'Twilight is considered a modern day shake spear'

I agree with this, if you read past the simple love story there is a lot of substance and deep meanings behind twilight if you read into it who else agrees.
    Then you should be shot
