    IGCSEs are international GCSEs. They are slightly different to the 'normal' GCSEs in that they have terminal exams, no coursework and some people perceive them to be more challenging than GCSEs.

    From my experience, CIE IGCSE English was harder than GCSE equivalents. I think CIE are meant to be harder than edexcel for IGCSE,both a bit harder than GCSE.
    Having said that, I reckon I did better doing CIE than I would have had I done Edexcel, it gave me more freedom to read around the subject and demonstrate knowledge rather than being bogged down my exam technique (at least for literature, language on the other hand involve lots of exam technique).
