Cut military spending or mostly useless and reprehensible education. Ask whosoever pays, yes?

I think the taxpayer would value Defense over a History and Media graduate.

The people whose only incentive to study is EMA shouldn't be going to uni. Glorified benefit thieves.

I really cannot argue with someone who thinks education doesn't provide benefits to society.

Drink from the spoon the state gave you.

sigh of course the poor are scum, why should i have thought any different. You'd prefer them making drug deals i suppose?

The people who are the real thieves are the corporations and entitled familys who take the money out of the cyclical economy and don't pay back to the society thaty allowed them to get to that position.

Education benefits society. Education does not benefit society. I really can't argue with someone who is so engrossed in incorporating a dozen possible meanings into a single word.

Why are you calling the poor scum?

You seem to think just because a person has been born into wealth they deserve to be able to socialise and do things those less off can't do.

And a person who is born into disadvantage should have to work constantly only getting the minimum support possible.

Why on earth are you comparing history with bldy media? In case you didn't know, a short while back people only went to university to study academic subjects like history. University was meant for academic study and academic students. That's actually the whole point of it!

Media is not even is the same league as history!

you have a very obscure perception, if you elucidated that from what I have written. fact is, you're wrong
fact is, the majority of those "born into disadvantaged families" have got themselves apprenticeships and are paying for those who are not from disadvantaged families to study some bull**** degree.
Workers and students, don't make me laugh.

I know that. I acknowledge the difficulties and demands of a history degree. But I also know that the taxpayer doesn't want to fund a fleet of historians.

wow I didn't think anyone a literary ability still believed in this cause.

A tripling of tuition fees. Yes. Because good things cost money, and that is the actual price of a decent degree. I just wonder why the taxpayer hasn't thus far complained that his money has been used to fund ridiculous courses. We are in debt, circa 6 billion.

EMA is being replaced by Learning Support Funds, which is basically EMA under a new name and a new, more stringent regime.

Where lies this discrimination against international students?
You do realise that we now have perhaps the most expensive public higher education fees? It is not the price of a decent degree. Few people I know have said that what they receive now even warrants 3000 pounds worth a year. Why should the tax payer complain about funding higher education even if he/she has not directly benefited from it? I hardly use public amneties nor the fire service yet I pay towards it!

Not even close to the majority have got themselves apprenticeships. And even if they did does that mean you think that vthe poor shouldn't be able to acess higher education, even if they want a academic degree?

If it was my choice the poor wouldn't pay any tax, the tax collected should be from the established wealth who didn't earn it. And corporations that take money from the economy.

No I agree history should only be for the rich. We don't need new and interesting insights into our pasts. We prefer a narrow interpretation by those from a select background.

Freikorps, in the broader sense of the term, is a voluntary paramilitary unit

Now that it has been widely acknowledged that these student "congregations" are established on a confused bandwagon fueled by buzz words and a Peter Pan mentality, and that the presence of the media refrains the police from taking the appropriate course of action, do you believe that it is time for an unofficial paramilitary group to take action? Obviously, if such a group existed, before action a warning would go forth to urge women and kids and malnourished "arts for the sake of art" graduates to stay at home.

    Thoughts?
Great idea Heinrich, using German and paramilitary in the first word you spout in your post.

I've got a hunch that violently attacking a load of angry students to stop them being violent is not going to work.

You don't put out a fire with petrol.

Well it's a good thing neither fire nor petrol is involved.
Students are angry enough to smash glass, but none are so cause dedicated that they will put themselves in the line of fire- I don't blame them, their cause is ridiculous.

Of course violence suppresses protests, and thereby stupidity.

Thinking suppresses stupidity. All violence supresses is lesser violence.

lesser violence upon whose accumulation greater violence becomes.
